The Sabonis stuff doesn’t pass the smell test for me. What’s more likely is that we’ve been part of some conversations with the Pacers as a 3rd team who would take on Holiday or Craig.

I'm sure there's interest in getting Jalen Smith for a sack of second round picks or Josh Jackson's of the league, which I suppose is slightly better than no interest at all.

The reality is the team acquiring him in a trade is limited in their ability to re-sign him. So if they really think he has value, they could offer him $1 more than his current team. Why give up an asset for that now?

Do we really think Jalen is gonna get more than the 4.9 million he can be offered? I have a hard time seeing someone offer him that. If it wasn’t for like 4 games, he’d be a 2-way guy next year.

If he's on the Suns next month, no, probably not.

However, I don't think it's unrealistic for him to go to somewhere like Detroit and put up consistent double-doubles in 28mpg. In that scenario, who knows?

Perhaps, I just think about Jarred Vanderbilt last year…he was pretty dang good and signed for like 3 million a year in the offseason. The league seems to have figured out that you don’t need to overpay for size anymore. Most teams only play 1 big at a time and there’s plenty of them to go around.

That's fair and Vanderbilt is a good comparison. So I suppose the only benefit to the team acquiring Smith is the opportunity to peek under the hood for six months. I'm still skeptical that's worth giving up a rotation player, which should be the Suns asking price.

Well he’s being a little more specific with his reports…we’ll see what happens. I’m less enthused about Thad now though. He can be helpful for sure, but not sure we have a lot of minutes for him.

Vanderbilt was restricted though, so that may have kept his value down. Jalen will be unrestricted.

Most important week in Suns franchise history!

I think we do end up with Thad in a buyout.

Regarding Stix’s value, it’s twofold. He’s actually a semi-productive big when given minutes and there are several teams out there that could use his type of player for this year (Charlotte, Chicago, Boston come to mind). Otherwise, he can represent a way for teams to reduce salary (by giving up a player who makes 25% more or had more years on their deal) while getting something productive in return.

Thad would be better on a buyout…let’s us use Saric/Smith to trade for another ball handler in the backcourt. Though Thad does offer some playmaking that would help

Poor Ricky. He's getting thrown around like a rag doll.

He’s out for the year and on an expiring deal, so doesn’t really impact him

He's still going to yet another team most likely.

I feel like Lavert has trouble fitting into a role that's not him dominating the ball and being the primary scorer, but it's worth trying for the Cavs for what I'm assuming will really only cost them a 2022 first round pick in the 20 range.

Shouldn't put Rubio in same sentence as this dude as Ricky is all class but point guards who keep switching teams is the common denominator at the moment
