The absurdity of the things Trump says has somehow increased since Kamala Harris has been introduced as the Democrat presidential candidate. He went from hinting about him being an authoritarian ruler that never leaves to pretty much saying it out loud now. I guess he hinted around enough at his rallies that his cult has grown accustomed to it and now he says vote for me and you will never have to again ever because we will fix it?

That is another level. He is leading them down a dark path.
It's Hitler all over again.
With Hindenberg out of the picture, we might have a chance.

I smell what you are stepping in I think.

Hindenburg = Biden?

Hindenburg died from lung cancer ant 89 and Hitler immediately took over and abolished the presidency office. Trump thought he had an easy path with the decrepit old man in his way. Now he has a younger pit bull in his way.

This is a good article that explains Kamala's popularity (and Trump's reaction to it) in the terms of WWE wrestling concepts like "heat."

Kamala is holding a big rally in Atlanta tonight. I don't think crowd size or energy is the #1 thing that matters in an election, but it is interesting to see the difference in enthusiasm for her over Biden.

All was lost will Bernie, I mean Biden. The Democratic Party was ready to raise the white flag. The old codger was replaced with a young pit bull minority woman who used to prosecute men like Trump for a living. How could they not be excited about that?

I noticed this during Kamala's rally in Atlanta, too. She had a bit more of an accent than usual. This is a very common thing called "code switching" and a lot of people do it when they are in different settings. It is especially common for black Americans when talking to each other vs a white/mixed audience. It is not a bad or phony thing; it is perfectly normal and part of fitting in with multiple groups with different expectations and norms. But some folks don't like it...

I do it regularly. I grew up with a large Hispanic family full of many cousins on my mom's side. I am close to half Hispanic myself. I work for a company where half the employees are in Latin America and code switch often depending on the audience. I'm not bilingual, sadly.

Trump continues to be big mad about Kamala's enthusiastic support, crowds, and the attention she's getting. He keeps workshopping insulting nicknames for her; Laffin' Kamala', Lyin' Kamala, now Crazy Kamala. He always calls women "crazy." None of these nicknames will stick, but at least "Crazy Kamala" alliterates.
