The Lakers have already sustained two injuries, to Nick Young (out 6-8 weeks with a bad finger) and Nash (day-to-day with a sprained foot, I think it was). I think injuries are going to plague that team this year.

Steve Nash, hurt. There's a "no-shit" headline ...

He was a great player, once; now he's just collecting paychecks.

I still respect him, if, for nothing else, for the fact that he's helping to sabotage the Lakers. 8-)

He's our own Trojan Horse.

He can't give it up and pull himself away, same with Kobe. That Lakers team is gonna be a mess.

Yeah. I don't fault him at all. He got the Lakers to pay him way more than he deserved at this age and for that he earned it. It would be stupid of him to retire now.

How much longer is his contract?

It's easy to say they should retire, but it'd be hard to give up the sport you love *and* a huge paycheck at the same time!

To his credit, he works his butt off to stay in shape. But old age has other ideas.

Per lots of people on Twitter, the NBA is about to renew it's broadcasting deals with Turner and ESPN for $24 Billion over 9 years. That's about triple what they're currently pulling in per year. The cap is going to shoot up over the next few seasons.

They're all floating in the same toilet.
I think the Bucks can make the playoffs this season.

I have no idea how the networks are going to recoup that money. Maybe because live sporting events are nearly the only times when commercials get watched they can charge a premium. That's just crazy though.

Yeah, if you think we overpaid any of our FA acquisitions like IT3, Bledsoe, or the Morrii, I can't imagine what it would be if we tried to sign them now.

Somebody seems to know what he is doing. Thank you, Ryan.

I think both owners & agents knew this was happening. If you're am NBA player that just signed a deal & your agent didn't know it is time for new representation.

Exactly. This wasn't a secret.

Plus, it wouldn't haven't change hardly any of the deals. "IT3" for instance wasn't negotiating an extension, really wanted to come to Phoenix, and wasn't pursued by his previous team. He couldn't have demanded to be paid according to some salary structure that still hasn't been worked out yet and is two years away.

Bledsoe got $2 million less per year than he is allowed to make per the the CBA. So not a lot of wiggle room there.

And the Morris Twins were not negotiating from a position of strength. They wanted to stay together no matter what and interest around the league in that combo is slim to none.
