Ayton was really solid last night. He's not a superstar but he is what he is. I just wish he could learn how to get to the line. Wood had 10 attempts to his 3. It's still hard for me to accept but I don't think that is going to change. He is a finesse player who doesn't like contact. Just have to accept that fact and appreciate him for what he is.
That's a good word for his game: "solid." Not superstar, or excellent, but very solid. Honestly I'm pretty content with him and his performance. He won't put the team on his back, but he will deliver pretty consistent scoring and rebounding and defense for us just about every game. Need another scorer to step up besides Book, whether it's CP3 or Mikal or Cam or whomever.

Sooo ... Is it time to talk about Chris Paul yet?

Also, side note, that State Farm commercial that shows him transitioning into a power-walker is just brutal. Might be the worst sports ad since Karl Malone endorsed Rogaine.

I kinda thought it was funny…

But as for CP3 in general, I’ll give him time but I am a bit worried that he finally fell off the cliff.

He didn’t take a lot of shots but a lot of the shots he missed were short. He obviously still sees the game amazingly but his body is struggled to keep up last night.

But I really like the 2man game between him and Book. We need more of that.
Agreed. It was beautiful to watch.

Looks like early on Mikal has taken the rebounding responsibility.. led us with 11 rebounds
I loved watching him work on the boards last night. He had a few offensive rebounds that he absolutely went after in the middle of traffic and pulled them in with intensity I'm not use to seeing from this team.

Thankfully there's only 81 games left so there shouldn't be much of a physical grind for him before the playoffs.

Kellan Olson does fantastic work with his breakdowns. There's some great stuff here with videos included. Highly recommend checking out.

Looked it up and I hope this is a trend,

Booker took 65% of his shots inside 10 feet(25% at the rim and 40% in the paint(non-restricted). Bridges took 70% of his shots inside 10 feet(50% at the rim and 20% in the paint(non-restricted). Dallas doesn’t have much rim protection, but hopefully we can find a way to keep that up.

After one game? Nah.

Did anybody else forget McGee was on the Mavs? After starting the game, he never returned.

I tuned out in the first half and later went back to watch the second half. I thought I was starting to see the Suns post-CP3...and I like what I see. Booker was as good as I have ever seen him and Ayton was...well...a lot better than just solid. He looked like an anchor in the paint on both ends.

Time to start thinking about putting CP3 to pasture. Whatever he can deliver, he can. But don't count on him.

Great comeback win. So proud of this team. I know it's just the first game of the season, but it's games like this that can propel you. Huge confidence boost for the Suns.

I actually thought Craig played the most credible defense on Luka besides Mikal.

Agreed. Was surprised to see the box sore having him only playing 9 mins. Thought he did some decent non-box score stuff when he was out there including making it difficult for Luka.
