No way for anyone who can't shoot a 3.
With KD and Book we need everyone else to be capable of hitting open 3s.

Respectfully, saying that DA and Fultz are comparable seems way off to me. Fultz came into the league and was almost completely unplayable. His rookie year he averaged 7 ppg on 40% shooting. His second season was little better, averaging 8 ppg on 42% shooting. Philly had to give him up for almost nothing in return and didn't even want to re-sign him after his rookie contract. By contrast, Ayton as a rookie averaged 16 ppg on 58.5% fg and 10 rebounds in 31 minutes/game. They aren't even remotely similar.Split T wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 5:22 pmI feel like DA and Fultz are comparable players. Both haven’t lived up to their draft status at 1. The thing is Ayton is checked out here. I’m probably higher on Fultz than most though. He never got his 3-point shot back, but he’s solid in the mid range, he’s big, he can get to the rim and he’s a very good defender. I think he’s a great pg next to Book. Ideally you’d want him to shoot, but then he wouldn’t be available.

I’m talking now, not how their careers started. You conveniently stopped after Fultz started figuring stuff out.

Totally different scenario. KD is obviously fading. I don't want to see what he looks like a year from now in the playoffs. And certainly not with a talent-depleted roster as is being rumored (waiving CP3, signing a Schroder-type PG, trading Ayton for a couple of scrubs).Wally_West wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 4:21 pmBook is going to get old one day, we should trade him now while he’s still young and his value is sky high.

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
He’s actually a pretty decent mid range shooter…but yes, he never figured out how to shoot 3s. Still, he was a 14/6/4 guy with 1.5 steals last year. Decently efficient considering he can’t shoot 3s…would like to see him get to the line more.

I also like Fultz's development trajectory, he's still adding things to his game. He just needs to stay healthy and he'll be one of the better PGs in due time.
Ayton, on the other hand, has clearly plateaued from a skill development perspective, and I have serious doubts that he'll ever add something significant to his game.

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
Fultz could be someone I could trade Ayton for, but Ayton still has quite a bit more value so the difference would have to be made up with picks and role players.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 11:26 pmI also like Fultz's development trajectory, he's still adding things to his game. Dude do you not get sarcasm? Nobody is trading Booker right now.JeremyG wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:06 pmTotally different scenario. KD is obviously fading. Bill Simmons floated a Marcus Smart/Robert Williams for Ayton trade on his pod.
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
100% make that trade but no idea why the Cs would.
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
I’m not sure why they would either…I don’t really know what their move is though. I’d probably just run it back with a new coach. Or see what you can get for Jaylen Brown. Would Cleveland flip Mitchell? Does that solve anything for either team?

would do that trade in a New York minute, but Celtics would be on drugs to make such a deal.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Brown did not look well during the Miami series.
They probably hang on to him.
Celtics may consider getting another active big ... Horford is not getting any younger.
Unless they commit to Muscala -- a guy they were happy to get, but then largely ignored for the rest of the season and playoffs...

Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
Ultimately I think Boston just needs a new coach and a real pg. Someone who can keep the team together on the court when things get shaky…can we interest them in CP3?
Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
I'd rather move Ayton to NY for Mitchell Robinson. I wonder if there's a way to do Robinson & Randle for Ayton + something?
$15M + $23M for $30M? We might not have to include much to meet the 15% but we'd be taking on salary. Largely depends on what we really intend to do with Chris Paul.

I don't think Randle makes much sense here anymore. He kinda needs the ball and I don’t want him taking it away from Book/KD and I don’t trust him as a playmaker.
I like Robinson. I think I prefer a big that shoots though. I’d love Myles Turner…or get Naz Reid if we trade Ayton for wings/shooters

Do you not get a response to sarcasm? There was nothing in my response that indicated I considered the Booker trade idea to be serious.SunsRIt wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 7:53 amDude do you not get sarcasm? Re: How Would You Rebuild the Suns?
Randle definitely isn't the answer. He looks as disengaged as Ayton half the time and doesn't really address a need. Turner would be great but I feel like we need someone that can give us more rim protection if we want to compete with the likes of Denver, Milwaukee and Miami next year.Split T wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 10:32 amI don't think Randle makes much sense here anymore.
