He made a play on the ball anyways…they need to change that rule again though. Players have figured out how to just make a poor play on the ball and foul in transition. I’d call any transition foul a ft plus the ball.

Even "play on the ball" is flawed because it can still be claimed even when they're not even close to touching the ball.

I'll know it's a play on the ball when the defender does in fact make a play ON the ball.

That’s my point…it’s too easy to make a play on the ball. You foul in transition(as long as it’s not on the shot) and it’s an automatic ft and the ball.

I’m not down on Vogel as much as this guy but I get the frustration. Watching this team make the same mistakes over and over and go through long stretches of no urgency has been hard to watch.

I always maintain you can’t really judge a team until after 25 games into the season, well we are basically there now. Time start nutting up.

The rebounding has waxed and waned. I think Vogel is getting to them about that.

The turnovers are a bit different. Like, does anyone think Vogel isn't telling them to not do dumb shit with the ball? I'm not really sure what more he could do.

I don't like how we're playing. I just said enough times we should be running more, our role players don't know what to and are afraid to shoot open 3s.

That's an insane rule exception, IMO. Clearly the NBA didn't think that one through enough.
Or they did...

I hear ya, Wally.

But the Lakers were also really bad for long stretches and didn't exactly deserve to win with their performance.
I’m glad we fought back but we absolutely deserved to lose this game. That1st half was completely unacceptable. The lakers deserved to win this game.

Ugh. Im gonna go throw up now.

I can’t put the turnovers on Vogel…most have been because we’ve put playmaking responsibilities on guys that aren’t used to so much(Gordon, Allen, and KD to an extent). We’ve been quite a bit better with Booker at limiting turnovers…today was an outlier game with Book playing. A lot today were just lazy passes or losing the ball on the dribble. That’s on the players 100%.

I’ll judge Vogel after we’ve seen the full team for an extended period of time. And probably after his first playoffs at least.

The problem is : we probably will play some playoff games (if not all) with one less star. We can't depend on everyone getting healthy cause it never happens.

The Suns were right in the game 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter. The Lakers didn't deserve shit, but I guess we'll just have to disagree on that.

I maintain that the biggest hole on this roster isn’t a “true PG” but a 4/5 who can allow us to match up against the bigger teams in the league without getting trucked on the glass.

They couldn’t even give us this? Just admit you were wrong…the ball is clearly loose when LeBron calls the timeout. We aren’t blind, don’t insult us like that

Lakers had 27 more shots than us.

27.

20 turnovers to their 9.

Don’t want to say the Lakers didn’t deserve it? Fine, but we can’t show our complete ass then pretend a single call at the cost us this. We fucked around and found out.

I agree. We need an option when Nurkic/Eubanks don’t have it…plus someone who can move KD to the 3 if we need some size. I think we hoped that would be KBD, but it hasn’t been. I’d give Metu more of a look.

I completely agree this team is too small and it’s a much bigger issue that having a random replacement-level PG to dribble and pass the ball.

OTOH, Metu is on the roster and hasn’t played nearly enough considering the size issue.

All I was saying is that the Lakers also played like ass for plenty of the game as well.

I’m not at using the missed call to say the Suns were cheated out of a win, just an opportunity to win.
