I feel bad for Tyus Jones. He sacrificed a lot of money, came to Phoenix and then loses his starting job to a player on a two-way contract.
Maybe he shouldn't be a pylon on defense.
There's a reason a lot of teams passed on him during the offseason. He's a solid backup who becomes a liability as a starter. Taking care of the ball and making wide open shots isn't enough if you can't guard anybody and don't create offense for anyone else.

Ya unfortunately for him it became very clear he is a backup pg. Someone will give him a decent contract though I’d guess. Not starter level, but maybe like 3/30 to play backup pg and start in a pinch. I’d look at teams with injury prone starters.

Tyus had some really good games, and generally he was a good BACKUP PG. But he was not a good starting PG, mostly because of his bad defense, but also because he didn't add much value offensively with KD and Book on the floor. He just brought the ball up and handed it off to KD most of the time, then stood out at the 3-point line and watched the iso. Not very helpful.

He had his chance to prove himself as a starting PG but did not succeed.

Admittedly this team was bad even with Durant playing, but they're getting bludgeoned without him. The amount of quit in this team is impressive.

D'Angelo Russell is an upcoming free agent. Bring him on! Re-unite Book, KAT, and D-Lo! What could go wrong?
If we are going to keep Book, this is actually what I would do. Then when it fails even with his best friends, you can finally ship Booker off.

Best friends is not an equation for good basketball. You just admitted you are just looking for excuses to ship off Book.

He can’t say we didn’t give him what he wanted. We will have tried everything.

If Ishbia is waiting for the majority of the fanbase to turn on Booker, that should do the trick.

I’ve already made it clear that I believe the best time to trade Booker is now.

Since Knick Fans hate so much Mikal, this is the best KD trade I could come up with.

who says no?

Knicks: KD, Derrick Jones Jr.

Magic: Norman Powell

Clippers: OG Anunoby

Suns: Mikal, Kolek, Goga, Cole Anthony, Cam Christie, 16th pick

16th pick-Book-Mikal-Dunn-Goga

Kolek, Anthony, Grayson, Royce, Oso, Richards, 29th pick

Would probably trade Royce for 2nds and see if you could swap Grayson for a PF or big wing.

I'm not enamored with Bridges like y'all are, he doesn't have the same shine, he's a nice player but I'd rather have OG and Jones Jr.

I have many fond memories of Mikal Bridges. But imagine giving up 5 first round picks and other assets for him! Can't believe the Knicks did that. He does seem to have regressed over the past few years; early in his time in Brooklyn he looked like he might be turning into a star player, but not any more.

If the following trades were our options for KD, what do you take?

Houston for Jalen Green/Jabari Smith Jr/9th pick/2027 1st

NYK for OG Anunoby/Mitchell Robinson

Minny for Randle/Divencenzo/Dillingham/17th pick(via Det).

Keep him

Houston for sure. I'd move Green asap tho.

I like Randle but wouldn't want him on the team, plus he's up for an extension. The Knicks offer is weak. OG isn't a true 4 and Mitch is never healthy.

Ya I think Houston is the best…I hope we can get one of Sheppard, Whitmore, or Eason too, but I’m not confident in that. I’d also like to move Green to a 3rd team.
