The Kevin Durant Problem
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I want Eason and Sheppard, I have zero interest in Green hes a volume scorer and who again would be very redundant with Booker, I'd have to move him to a 3rd team. Also reobtain as many of the Suns firsts as possible.
I'm worried that KD is gonna say he wants Minnesota and we gotta just eat shit on Randle or Gobert. Blarg

Ya I don’t think anyone really wants Green, but you gotta have someone to make the salaries close
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Houston is first choice. Keep him is the second.
As far as this year's 9th pick is that assuming no movement up in the lottery? And can any trades for that pick be made before the lottery? In other words if it stays at 9th then it generally has a static worth. But if by chance it moves up in the lottery or hits the jackpot for 1st it obviously would be worth much more.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
We are allowed to trade for the pick unprotected as soon as Houston is eliminated. That’s why we need them to be eliminated before the lottery (May 12), in case it moves up. Of course “these things take time” so it would be best if they get swept by Golden State and decide right away that they need KD.JJ Slim wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 1:42 pmHouston is first choice. Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Ya it can still move up(or down), so the actual value isn’t known yet. We can technically trade for it before the lottery if Houston is out of the playoffs, but that gets complicated because it means we operate on this years cap and Jalen Green could not be the salary as his extension kicks in July 1st. Most likely it just becomes Houston trading us whoever they pick at 9(or wherever it ends up). Perhaps we agree to a trade and just don’t announce it officially till July 1.JJ Slim wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 1:42 pmHouston is first choice. Keep him is the second.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Thanks guys! I've been wondering about that for a while. And of course our nightmare becomes if the pick does become #1 unless we get it back before the lottery.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Though I do wonder if Houston would be more willing to part with Tari Eason if they get Cooper Flagg. I’ll take Eason/Smith/Green/27/29

FVV/Thompson/Flagg/KD/Sengun still got Sheppard, Brooks, Whitmore too.
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
You take the HOU deal every day because our picks are the most valuable, since we will be bad without KD. I would prefer one blue chip young asset with it, though, like Sheppard. I don't think they want to give up Eason, but who knows.
I don't hate the MIN deal if they threw in one more pick. I kind of like Randle if I absolutely must take back some veteran forward in the deal. And DiVincenzo isn't a bad throw-in.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I think that’s all Minny has…they can add swaps I guess
Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Or they could try to go out and get us another pick.

Nobody kinda likes Randle, not even his own teams. He sucks butt.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 2:26 pmYou take the HOU deal every day because our picks are the most valuable, since we will be bad without KD. Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
I wonder if Houston eyes a bigger fish than KD in Giannis. Gotta think that’s on the table after Bucks get eliminated in the 1st round again.

Booker for Giannis. Then they can’t trade for Giannis and we can trade them KD.Wally_West wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 6:42 pmI wonder if Houston eyes a bigger fish than KD in Giannis. Gotta think that’s on the table after Bucks get eliminated in the 1st round again.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Yea if I were Houston with those picks and players, I'd be calling Milwaukee for sure.
Still think Dallas is a darkhorse and maybe a 2nd best realistic option.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
A better one than Booker playing here with Oso and Gillespie? You would rather have that and not be able to get our picks from Houston?
It’s certainly a better option than trading Booker to Houston like some have suggested.

Re: The Kevin Durant Problem
Id rather just trade Booker for Jokic if we're pie in the sky dreaming.
