See, Ayton IS capable of taking it hard to the hole.
Sure, but did he finish it hard or lay it in soft?

Has there been a more divisive player in Suns history than Ayton?
We used to have the same kind of discussions about Leandro Barbosa. There were 2 or 3 people who thought he should be an allstar.
I remember the Penny Hardaway discussions around here and they were pretty ugly at times.

Ayton likes to finesse the rim and go gentle instead of just slamming it in. It's hard for it to go down when he's putting it in so soft and it prevents him from finishing as often as he should, a young guy in his prime. Chiseled, lean, perspirating. I need to take a break. It's getting hot in my office. Jeremy, can you take over here for me?

Garboja was shit for brains as a backup PG

God, yeah. That was so long ago, but you're right.

The person can be great yet a lousy player.

He had a very lowIQ for the game and we were asking him to be the backup PG. His fastbreak head down turnovers were ridiculous

When Dragic came along and he slid to the 2 spot, he was much better when he didn’t have to make decisions.

He had a very low turnover rate, so I don’t think that criticism is really grounded in fact. Ya he wasn’t a pg, but that’s not his fault. He played very well next to Nash and like you said, Dragic. He was a pretty efficient scorer. He was very good for us from 05-06 through 08-09

I hated the wild layups where he ended up on the floor under the basket. The Spurs figured it out pretty quickly, and whenever he made one of those, they purposefully pushed the ball quickly to a wide open corner three, that they never seemed to miss. Unfortunately, the Suns never figured out the Spurs were doing this on purpose as a scouted tactic.

The last page or so of comments gave me some good laughs; well done, fellas.

Barbosa was great. Sweet, sweet guy; played hard, loyal Sun, good friend of Nash, great locker room guy, everybody loved him. Bit of tunnel vision on his drives to the basket, but he was so fast, and he could really get to the hoop. Became a decent 3-point shooter. Could be a bit frustrating as backup PG since he didn't really "run an offense," but as a score-first microwave guard off the bench, he was just fine.

Loved Barbosa. Terry Porter nearly destroyed him when LB was at his peak.

Not only that but it seemed like he missed his fastbreak layups like 80% of the time. What’s the point of being the Brazilian Blur if you’re also the Brazilian Brick?

Miss 80% of the time? OMG, it's worse than the Ayton love.

So you’re saying a coach can impact a player negatively and impede his growth? Where have I heard that before!??!

Are we really comparing Terry Porter to Monty Williams now?

Terry Porter would often only make one sub in the 1st and 3rd quarters, so any good bench player we had was limited to 24 mpg (and usually less).
