You can just bench Nurkic in the playoffs. Play Eubanks
You keep saying that as if it’s not insane to trade our starting center for an ostensible backup center when we’re going for a title.
You forget our backup center playing for the minimum outplayed our starting C last year in the playoffs.
Maybe because that is flat out false?
It really isn’t…here are their per-36 numbers from the playoffs:

Ayton 15/11
Landale 14/9

Ayton shot 55%
Landale shot 63%

Ayton averaged 1.9 turnovers
Landale averaged .6 turnovers

Ayton had a .047 WS/48 and a -3.5 BPM
Landale had a .144 WS/48 and a 0.1 BPM

Ayton had a -4.2 on/off rating
Landale had a +15.7 on/off rating

lol split coming in with straight up stats…. Here comes the rebuttal about the intangibles he brings 🤦‍♂️

Ayton once played really great in the playoffs two years ago.

It's happening!!!! with 2 first round picks from Toronto to Portland
Link doesn't work. What's the deal?
The dream trade would be if Toronto sent OG/Trent/Flynn and picks to Portland for Dame and Portland turned around and flipped OG/Nurkic for Ayton/Ish
That’s essentially what it was lol

He absolutely did…. I really think he could have a great season this year. He’s shown he can be great albeit in streaks. It’s the consistency we need from him and when you have a scrub like jock coming in and showing comparable stats you have to scratch your head a little.

People complaining about Nurk and his injuries but want OG included in a deal? He's hurt more than Nurk. OG seems to be a player every fanbase salivates over, in love with the idea of him than his actual play. Also, wouldn't OG be unable to be traded with another player after the initial trade?

Whether or not a deal goes down, I'm not sure how fans can claim we haven't been shopping or looking to trade DA. It's been going on since the draft and we're clearly looking to move on from him for one reason or another - be it his play, his contract, whatever. If he were on solid ground here, there'd be no talk around him whatsoever and certainly no rumors about including him in a deal for Nurk.

I feel like we're getting ready to be dumb...we made all these strong moves, now dumb. I am far from being against trading DA, buy for injury prone centers? Come on! Haven't we figured out now to do stupid sheit like that yet? I haven't seen a proposal yet that makes sense short of getting Scoot, and I don't see them doing that...

In the names so far moving, Damien or Scoot are the only ones that have been worth a damn...

Don't like these Nurkic rumors. Nurkic is really nothing special. He is slow and plodding, he's had some major injuries to his legs, and I don't see much space for upside or improvement from him; he is what he is. Ayton has all kinds of imperfections, but he's a great defender, he's got a lot of talent, and he's still very young and may not be done getting better. I think it's telling that Portland is just itching to be rid of Nurkic and insists on including him in any trade where they part with Dame. I just don't see why you give away a talented (albeit flawed) young starting center for a piece of dead weight like Nurkic.

P.S. 200 pages or no 200 pages, please do make a new thread when and if Ayton does get traded. Thanks.

I don’t think anyone here wants a straight up Ayton for Nurk swap. Perhaps we can all take a breath. Clearly there’s an upside to getting off his contract, so there’s no way we’re getting a great player back in return. I’ll be happy just to see a conclusion at this point. The ratio of Loving Ayton to being frustrated by him has been out of balance for so long.

You really will see what you want to see. You think the 1 extra point Ayton scored on 4 extra shots means Ayton was better.

No comment on the other stats? Ayton was horrendous last playoffs…

The other stats are useless when you're talking about a player who played so few actual minutes.

Even Flex is still saying that we are not shopping him, that other teams are calling and we are listening. That's all. He says other teams are interested because of his Bahamas performance and because they saw what happened with Mikal after he left Phoenix. These teams are thinking that Ayton could be the next Mikal (meaning Suns/Monty was holding him back), per Flex.

He played 18 minutes per game in the Denver series…that’s not nothing.

You really thought Ayton was good against Denver?
