Thanks for reminding me how far back it actually goes. Lebron farts and its front page news. Pass. We don't need the circus, the fair weather fans, the Lebron team jumpers. I'm not about to give him credit for our success. I didn't wait this long for a title to get one this way. Don't care.
Sorry, but to say that someone achieved his level of individual and team success without having to work for it is nonsense. You don't get to that point on athletic gift alone. Plenty of guys have been dubbed The Next Big Thing and didn't go on to have a fraction of the success that LeBron's had.
"The Next Big Thing" Ha, makes me think: Vince Carter, T-Mac, Backcourt 2000, Penny Hardaway.

I agree with this, not a huge Lebron fan. "The Decision" is what ruined it for me. However, bottom line, LBJ makes the Suns a much better team. He signs here, he is forgiven!

Flagrant Fowl wrote:I don't really understand why people hate LeBron. No one who contributes to a message board has any first hand account of him as a person, and he's one of the most entertaining athletes in the world, in any sport. The guy lives a life so far from what any of us will ever experience it's practically impossible to relate.

He plays hard, rarely makes excuses, and does his job with a smile. I like LeBron, and I would love to see him on the Suns because it would mean that one of the 5 greatest basketball players in the history of the world played for my favorite team in the city I was born and raised. That would be incredible.
So I guess you live next door to Lebron, and therefore you and only you can hold an opinion about him, right? Since when is that a pre requisite to like or dislike a public figure? And I don't need to relate to my President to aprove his mandate, nor to agree or disagre with his policies. Neither of them are gods to be adored with no questions in hand. Lebron is the ultimate jock, the best in the world, but still a jock, so do not act like he can actually walk on water or cure cancer.

Now, regarding to LBJ... As P219 says, altough he undoubtebly has put the effort, he has no business per example next to Nash in terms of overachieving with your physical gifts. So while I don't hold it against him to be a natural athlete that needs a lot less effort to succeed, I don't get mesmerized for it either. Shaquille O'Neal would be on the same category (except for the lazyness) and of course they both are something to witness on the court, but I enjoy more cases like Steve Nash. And I'm a Suns' fan since precisely the '93 finals, when I refuse to worship the all-mighty Bulls, and instead was pulling for the Suns to win (A curious underdog, with the best record in the league), same when the Pistons demolished the Kobe-Shaq-Malone-Payton Lakers, and this year with the Spurs humilliating Miami, but that's just me. I don't need to hold all the knifes to take on a fight, I can grab it and take it from you.

Therefore, I see a lack of character, of resilience on Lebron's actions, he is dominant by causality, not as a result of someone that will his way into victory, so when his no-doubt powerful efforts are not enough to win, he can not find an extra gear from within his desire. A good example of this is Duncan and Ginobili on the Spurs. As much as Timmy is the muscle doing the hard pulling, Ginobili as been time and time again the heart that push San Antonio into overdrive. Game 4 was a clear example, after the Heat took an early lead, Ginobili singlehandly put the Spurs back in the game. And we are talking about a broken down 30something player no longer capable to do the things that Lebron does without breaking a sweat. Last year, it was Ray-freaking-Allen who brought Miami back from the dead all the way into the championship, not Lebron, not Wade, and certainly not Bosh, who lacks character even more than James. And Allen did it while we were already watching the Nice 3 pouting and whining while embracing defeat, this year, we saw it happening all finals long.

And while he is not mentally strong, he is still pompous and arrogant, putting himself above everything and taking hostage his team. He did it in Cleveland and now he is doing it to Miami. There he could take a lesson from old school Duncan and Nowitzky, and no about the paycuts, but in acting in sync with your team. He doesn't owe them sumision, but neither is about ask for Napier as a prerrequisite to start talking, don't toy with people just to feel respected.

I fear for him coming to Phoenix and put the team and the fans through this kind of thing. I dislike when somebody judge a people or a city because some perceived "lack" of glamour, more so when that people himself is not some sort of royalty, in wich case you can understand a lack of sensibility given an existence surrounded by luxury and glamour 24/7/365 since his birth. But LBJ is from freaking Akron Ohio!!! I can't stand people forgeting their roots and suddenly thinking that even their shit smell likes roses because they found some degree of success.

In my book, that kind of person is what I think is traslated to english as a punk. Short history, to me, Lebron is a punk, but I had the time to use 700 words to over explain my self.

And while I won't quit on my Suns if he comes to Phoenix, I don't think either that he is our only hope to hang a banner in our court.

I remember watching a game of his when he was in high school. I wasn't impressed with his shot at all and wondered what all the fuss was about. Since then, he's built one of the best bodies in the league and his shot is pretty great.

OTOH, I absolutely loathed "The Decision" on ESPN, "I'm taking my talents to South Beach." <puke> And secondly, and almost as bad, was the pre-party in Miami before they had done anything. The spotlights and smoke and the "Not one, not two, not three..." speech. <more puke>

Very nicely put aztec. You know, I've been a Suns fan since the same Finals? My brother was a bandwagon fan in every sport; We're an hour from Buffalo, so in the early 90s he was a Bills fan in football, a Yankees fan in baseball, and a Bulls fan in basketball. I started watching the series just to root against him, and my first game was the triple overtime win in Game 3. It totally enthralled me and I've been a diehard Suns fan ever since.

I know that it already makes me sick to think about people in the future writing, "Phoenix's only title came during Lebron's stint in Phoenix, bla bla bla" when we're just one of 4, 5 teams the fucker played for....

Diaw stays with the Spurs.

Magic eight ball: All signs point to yes.
I think this article sort of confirms my way of thinking on this whole situation which is, if we get LeBron, then awesome. If we don't, then we are still in a damn good position going forward.I think the best course of action is maybe signing some vets that fill needs to 1 year deals or even maybe just sitting out this free agency and standing pat for the time being.

Speaking of which, unless I missed something, I haven't heard a peep on Josh McRoberts - any news floating around on him by chance?

Who will be a free agent next year that the Suns could sit on their money and wait for? How much cap space will they have if they re-up Bledsoe to max or close to max money?

I know that Love is supposed to be a free agent, but if it comes down to then, I think he goes to the Lakers.

It feels like, if the Suns don't sign someone big(the right free agent), they might miss out again next year and then feel like they should just sit tight like OKC has been the last few years.

Charlotte just increased their offer to the full MLE per Woj.

Sorry, Swing. Feel for you. He was not coming cheap. There goes your F4MP (Fee for Middling Play), or 4Mper. Only that this season it's 6M+ not 4M hahaha.

So I laugh my ass off when I hear either party cry over money in CBA negotiations.

Anyway, solid for the Hornets (Chalotte Hornets feels just right btw).

Yep, if we can get this far with the best FA in the game, it shows that the sky's the limit for this FO. A great sign!

BR almost had me until they listed Dragic PG, Bledsoe SG.

But anyway it's nice to say with a straight face that the franchise is in a perfect position to take the next big step.

I cannot shake the feeling that after we miss on LBJ we're gonna move Dragic for Love and sign IT2.

I hope not. They might replace IT2 with Stevenson though.

I had to look up who IT2 was. (Isaiah Thomas, btw, for others like me.)

Why would Minny want Dragic and Rubio? I guess they could play them together just like we do.

Not a fan of any of those moves.

I also would not enjoy rooting for Lance Stephenson. He's just not the type of player I enjoy watching and cheering for.
