None of these trades actually make us better. These trade proposals are just trading Ayton to get rid of Ayton. The Suns are not going to do that. They are only trading him if a team blows them away with an offer.

How about Capela and Hunter as the core pieces coming back?
I don't think they're moving Hunter. He complements the backcourt duo and he is one of the few 2-way players they have.

You're talking to the guy who cheered a tweet saying that Portland was NOT interested in Ayton.

I know. Ayton is the "sun, moon, and stars" for him, as Lon Babby would say.

Is anything I said in the above post incorrect? Are you saying you believe we will trade Ayton for a return that does not make us better?

I think satisfying your expectations for what makes us better won't be a possibility. I believe, if we trade him, it will be for a more appropriate piece for this roster. I am firmly in the belief, as well, that you will be disappointed in any return.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

This has nothing to do with my expectations for what makes us better. The Suns are not going to trade him for "a more appropriate piece." Unlike many on here, they don't feel like they have to get rid of him. They're not going to bank on "addition by subtraction." They will only make a trade if they believe it actually makes the team significantly better. That's why I put it at about a 25% chance--a team would have to blow them away with an offer.

One thing to worry about is that if Ayton doesn't improve under Vogel, his value will plummet even further.

You do realize all of that is subjective, right?
