Wasn't Chris Haynes the same reporter who said that Chris Paul would be released?
Same guy. Same guy who I beefed with in DMs for calling him a Klutch mouthpiece a couple years back.
Tell us more lol

He’s just one of those guys that search their names and hits you up if you talk shit. His profile has risen quite a bit since then tho. I still think that he has that job cause of Klutch tho.

I think Gambo is wrong on this one (Kyrie).

I'd rather have Eric Gordon for a minimum.

Are there any rules that would prohibit an owner from just paying a dude outta his own pocket off the books? Say a guy comes in on the minimum but Ishbia just happens to write a $12m check a few days later to said player. How would you even stop that?

Ummm. Yes. Every rule. That’s total cap circumvention.

That’s basically what Minnesota did with Joe Smith and it cost them 5 first round draft picks and $3.5M.

Meh, I think it’ll be fine. We should definitely do that.

Right? Take all the picks, we don't need them anyway.

Back in the day when $3.5M was actually a little bit of money. Nowadays these guys use $3.5M cash to light a cigar.

I don't know if I'd go as far to say he's "good" when he couldn't get on the floor in his second season.

There could be something there, he has a solid base of skills for a guy his size. I think he has a bit of a tweener problem, too slow to defend on the perimeter but too soft to match up with real Centers.

And they voided his contract too.

Just so we’re clear, the issue with Joe Smith was that they actually wrote out a second contract off the books for their “wink-wink” deal.

There’s nothing the NBA can do with say Cuban promising Dirk a front office position once he retired or say giving him a paid position on the board of one of his other companies.
You just can’t put it into writing and if you offer him another “job” then you’d have to justify it.

So I don’t know if let’s say Kyrie wanted to start a new sneaker company if maybe Ishbia wants to be a major investor in that, if that’s not allowed, so long as it’s not written as a contingency in either contract.
