Not exactly. They also got rid of Gilliam, who was a turnstyle on defense. Rambis wasn't that great, its just amazing how much a little bit of defense makes. Rambis was also an effective rebounder and knew how to start the break. Gilliam would rebound but then hold the ball till everything cleared. He was a break-stopper.
other data:
1) suns never won a playoff series vs laker until 1990
2) suns had a losing streak at the forum dating back to 1984. http://www.nytimes.com/1990/05/08/sport ... ctory.html
3) the suns were rebuilding from the drug scandal problems just 2 yrs prior.
4) magic was mvp of the regular season, and pat riley COTY in 1990. long time laker coach Riley quit the lakers after losing to the suns.
how does any of that show that Rambis is a top 20 all-time Sun?

at least Rambis > Mcdyess.

I wouldn't argue too hard either way. I see them as similar.

What can you tell us about this dude, INF?
Shams Charania @ShamsCharania Marquette's undrafted Jamil Wilson has reached agreement on a deal with the Phoenix Suns, league source tells RealGM.

Ryan McDonough radio spot on Wednesday after the deal:
1 - Kevin Johnson
2 - Charles Barkley
3 - Steve Nash
4 - Paul Westphal
5 - Amare Stoudemire
6 - Walter Davis
7 - Shawn Marion
8 - Alvan Adams
9 - Connie Hawkins
10 - Dick Van Arsdale
11 - Larry Nance
12 - Jason Kidd
13 - Tom Chambers
14 - Dennis Johnson
15 - Dan Majerle
16 - Goran Dragic
17 - Jeff Hornacek
18 - Paul Silas
19 - Mark West
20 - Antonio McDyess
My top score group ...
1. Kevin Johnson
2. Charles Barkley
3. Steve Nash
4. Paul Westphal
5. Connie Hawkins
6. Walter Davis
7. Amare Stoudemire
8. Shawn Marion
9. Dick Van Arsdale
10. Jason Kidd
11. Tom Chambers
12. Dennis Johnson
13. Larry Nance
14. Dan Majerle
15. Alvan Adams
16. Jeff Hornacek
17. Paul Silas
18. Charlie Scott
19. Maurice Lucas
20. Truck Robinson
Connie Hawkins value to the franchise is immeasurable. Before The Hawk, the Suns were the Washington Generals, everybody's patsy. Fan base was the size of a dime. Hawkins made the Suns cool and watchable.
While Alvan Adams was a talented player, but his longevity was the result of him being the favored child of MacLeod.
Charlie Scott was lights out on some lousy Suns teams.
Mo Lucas and Dennis Johnson added physicality to the Suns that has not been seen since they left.
People forget how great a scorer Truck Robinson was. He did, however, come up short in the playoffs...
I like Goran, but he's only been a starter one year. If he has another year approaching last season, then he gets into top 20.
i notice that gar heard is missing... i wasn't around when he played but he has to have some place in suns history, no?

A pogo-stick at the 3 with long arms and not a whole lot else, it seems :
Zoran Dragic, the younger brother of Suns star Goran Dragic, agreed Thursday to join the Suns this season on a two-year, $3.5 million contract. He was warming up for a game with his Spanish club, Unicaja Malaga, on Thursday when the terms of his Suns contract and his Unicaja Malaga buyout were finalized by his agency, BDA Sports Management, which also represents Goran.
Zoran's contract stipulated a $1.1 million buyout that was negotiated down to a $1 million buyout, up to $600,000 of which can be paid by the Suns. The agreement, as reported first on Twitter by trendbasket.net, was completed today so that Zoran could be in Phoenix by Monday, when the team officially reports and heads to a five-day training camp in Flagstaff.
Zoran's fully guaranteed contract gives the Suns a full 15-man roster for the regular season after the Thursday signing of Eric Bledsoe to a five-year, $70 million contract.

When is the last time we had 15 guys with guaranteed contracts on our roster (and none were 10-day contracts)?

Not much. I didn't pay much attention to him when he was at Marquette.
Thanks Swing for the lowdown.
