I think everyone agrees the return was underwhelming…how is your idea of keeping KD and getting Mark Williams also not all in on a team that won’t be very good?

Well the good thing would have been $54 million coming off the cap in '26.

And spending half of it on Mark Williams? I would not count saving Ishbia money as a good thing.

It has nothing to do with Ishbia's money. It's about getting us out of the aprons.

There’s much better ways to do that. I mean you don’t even get below until next year.

Green is only 23 years old. It was his first playoff experience. Not going to close that book. I didn't love the trade, but I'll give him a chance to grow and develop. If he's 25 and still the same player then you know he's just another low efficiency low IQ chucker at that point.

I'm not sure he'll move past low efficiency chucker but I also think it's unreasonable to label someone a poor playoff performer after one or two playoff appearances.

He was also the only real offensive option that could get their own shot, he was also under terrible a terrible coach for the first couple of years, he's definitely not cooked and could improve, I just don't know if he's built that way mentally.

He plays Booker's position. He makes no sense here.

Are you saying Jalen Green is a PG?

Devin Booker is not a point guard, and it’s a crime that we keep trying to make him be one.

No argument from me on that; I'd trade him for Trae if I could but contracts don't match

Saw a rumor that we were getting Cam Whitmore in the KD trade, but we preferred more 2nd round picks…which at the time I would’ve thought stupid, but I guess we got Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea with those picks.

I’m much happier with the draft assets, and I gotta believe they are prioritizing getting under the second apron. I think we could see any or all of Royce, Grayson, Nick Richards traded once teams strike out of free agents in the next 2 weeks.

In a would-be seven-team trade, there is an unprecedented amount of detail. Unfortunately, while a seven-team trade would make for a thrilling topic at a cocktail party, there haven’t been many unexpected developments in these negotiations. At least in the iterations of the deal discussed so far, most of the recognizable names are from trades that have already been agreed to and reported but not yet finalized.
The Hawks would be sending Clint Capela to the Rockets in what would become a sign-and-trade, league sources say. Durant would go to Houston. The previously reported return for him, including Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green, would go to Phoenix. Only five players who were in the NBA last season are being discussed in the current iteration of the trade, as of now: Durant, Brooks, Green, Clint Capela and Daeqwon Plowden, league sources say. The rest of the players being discussed are all from already-agreed-upon draft-night trades that are yet to be finalized and can't be until July 6.

What is the point of doing that with the trade? Who does it help? Do we get anything or if it?

It's already several teams because of how the Suns used the second round picks they obtained.

I don't get it. What is the advantage to expanding the trade? And how does this work? They just take the original trade agreed to and add on to it for some kind of advantage?

It’s just cap shenanigans. Basically it’s things like if Atlanta actually signs and trades Capela to Houston, they create a trade exception that they can then complete one of their other free agent signings with instead of using say the mid level exception.
