That makes no sense. They're the same trade, aren't they? Losing that Laker pick is a monumental blunder. Literally best asset on the team and we just toss it away to get 3 months of an RFA PG. I like Knight but I'm really bummed about losing that pick.

Why couldn't we get Bass instead of Thornton?

Here is hoping for the Cavs to implode so LeBron and Love leave!

Saying it was a great value....and this is what Mcdonaugh had in mind, they could get value for thomas if it did not work out....and it didn't.

In the scheme of things they actually picked up 2 extra picks. I'm no board with you that I hate sneding away the lakers pick, I don't like it at all...but lets not ignore facts. IT was dealt for a 1st was he not?
I never wanted IT AND Bledsoe. When Ryan signed IT, I hoped it was a sign that we were moving on from Bledsoe. And I did think the contract was good value and still do. But when it was signed, I wasn't hoping it would get flipped for a late first round pick.

So no, I'm not ignoring facts. I'm just not championing this as Ryan's master plan well executed. It's far from it.

I mean we'll see how everything works out. I would of held onto the Laker pick, but then again I would of done a lot of different things over the course of the last few years. I think had Goran not voiced his displeasure you would of seen the IT trade and thats it. But because of that the suns went out and made the other move. There are still a lot of other moves to be made and cap flexibility to be used I'm curious to see how this all plays out now. Basically you have Knight taking Dragic's place in the plan....

Brandon Knight sure abused Dragic and Bledsoe the last time we played them...

Neither am I. His master plan didn't include Dragic becoming as disgruntled as he did. Thats why you saw the Heat and Bucks moves. His master plan would of had IT fitting in better with the offense. But again, we agree, IT's contract was of good value. So his plan backfired, it didn't work out but because it was such good value he was able to essentially undo it by getting that money back, ridding the team of IT and picking up a 1st without taking on any bad contracts. Hardly deserves a pat on the back for it, because Thomas is still a very good player, but we still used thomas for a half a season then bailed on him with an extra 1st in toe.

The miscalculation on his part was the whole dragic thing, but if you read Dragic's quotes had IT never been signed seems like he still would of had issue with sharing the backcourt with Bledsoe. Although, like I said before, it seems him and Bled are very close so I dunno

I can't see how one could complain about the IT3 dumping. One pick and expiring contract is textbook. You are not getting a good prospect, or two picks. You could have aimed for a veteran under contract that is a better fit, but that's it. The move basically should have been made when we traded for Wright. Wright and the pick for Thomas. Simple and achieves essentially the same.

We really shouldn't be concerned with "right now." And it's a problem having to pay Knight based on just 30+ games. But this front office doesn't seem to have a problem that sort of situation.

In terms of contract, MCW's is preferable. In terms of development, Knight is actually 2 months younger than MCW.
