I think you’re missing the point. If Dame gets traded tomorrow and Ayton for Nurkic is part of it, what would you say about Gambo? To me whether it happens or not is what matters, not whether it takes a couple extra days.

I leave for a while biding my time until the preseason begins thinking our roster is pretty set as is currently constructed. And then come back only to find Ayton rumors are exploding again!
While I do understand the frustration with Ayton and his contract, and do really like the idea of McConnell and Caleb Martin for depth pieces, I'm really not excited or in favor of Nurkic for Ayton unless Nurkic can be moved elsewhere for a better center option hopefully? Nurkics' durability and mobility issues as well as his 18 million next season seem a bit risky to me. And I definitely consider him a downgrade to Ayton in terms of defensive versatility too. But I'll be patient and see what the full value exchange might become?
