He has all the appearance of practice fodder for training camp. If he does well, he can get a gig in the D League.
That's the thing. The Suns invited a couple of these guys to camp but we already have 15 guaranteed contracts! Farm team?
No farm team. Wilson is there as a practice body for camp. If you want to see him play, go to the open scrimmage. He may be gone before preseason games and will certainly be gone by the regular season.

Yeah, I just don't see what's in it for them or the Suns. Joe Jackson too.

https://twitter.com/DaveKingNBA/status/515240456402505728 Uh, $4M/yr for Zoran Dragic? He better defend like Bruce Bowen cause his offense is nothing like Goran's from what I've seen. It's barely NBA replacement level.

4M a year or 4M over 2 years?

Unless Zoran Dragic is also represented by Rich Paul, the deal's total value is $4 million, not its annual salary.

Lol!
Also I cool with that contract if true.

The number of guards and small forwards on our roster is getting obscene.

If by obscene you mean awesome, then I concur.

I don't really have one. Just relaying what I had just read. I had suspected the second year might be partially guaranteed.

I'm really not sure how I feel about the whole situation. If he's going to leave the European leagues, it's nice to have guaranteed money for at least two years. So, that makes sense. I like what I saw of him in the World Cup but I'm not sure why we're bringing him on. We are so guard heavy already. I can't imagine it's just to appease Goran but maybe it is. It's a nice gesture that he's able to hang out with his brother. Maybe Goran was a little homesick and this was done to help out. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

i'm really going out on a limb here, but in every article that talks about the suns' interest in goran they describe him as a tough nosed defender, which suggests that maybe the team is picking him up for the defensive versatility he brings... when we put our top three guards out there, they are dragic (6'3", not a stopper), bledsoe (6'1", reputation for tough defense but somewhat undersized), and thomas (5'9", always plays hard on defense but ... he's 5'9"!), and even if we have wonderful offensive output, there may come a time when we need to shut down the opposing team's wing scorers, and having zoran on the team gives us that option without completely sacrificing offense and chemistry.
