Just done a bit of an audit of Blanks' reign at the Suns over on ASFN and my take on the Beasley acquisition is this - if you consider it in isolation then it night not have been a bad gamble (Beasley had a breakout season 2 years prior to joining the Suns averaging 19 / 6, but only averaged 11.5 / 4 in the season imediately before joining), but when you consider the franchise also took a gamble on Turkoglu (Turkoglu averaged 17/5/5 for Orlando 2 seasons prior to coming to Phoenix but only 11/5/4 with Toronto the season immediately before joining Phoenix), then you can make a pretty good argument see that the Beasley move was stupid.

"We failed big time on a gamble once - let's try it again!" (in back-to-back seasons no less).

I'm still trying to get my brother in on helping administer this web site, so that we can have the Morii and the Morrii (and the Marcii and Brandii).

Well said. All of this crying about people not blindly liking every move the team makes is crazy.

It typically takes conventional wisdom a while to catch up to this stuff, but Westbrook is an elite player in this league. In the LeBron, Durant, Davis, Curry, Harden group.
Elite talent for sure. He's boxscore stuffer and dominates the ball, so there are always going to be stats that prop him up. But the guy is Jekyll and Hyde. Elite one moment, train wreck the other.

And right on cue he has a triple double through 3 quarters against Portland. Currently shooting over 50%.

Heres a question, If you build a team around him, Can you win a title with him as your best player?

Different players, but Philadelphia went all the way to the finals with a team built exclusively around Allen Iverson.

AI is beloved here in Philly, but ultimately once he got older he predictably bottomed out faster then other star players because he could never accept being a role player. I can see that happening to Russ when he gets older with the mentality he has now.

Bledsoe is such a weird player. Makes some jaw dropping athletic plays and then just fucks up the fundamental easy stuff sometimes. So weird. Someone on the radio recently said this is the first time he's ever played a full season as a starting PG and that they think he'll come back next season having cleaned up a lot of his mistakes.
nah... once a bledsoe, always a bledsoe.

I think that gets overlooked. He's not a finished product. His game is what it is, but as long as he's healthy and can work on some things, he can get better.

I just hope that when/if he figures out how to limit the turnovers and look for the open man more, that his his athleticism will still be there so that he is still able to attack the basket with the same ferocity.

I wasn't calling into question your position on any of those deals. With each and every one of those moves there were plenty of posters chastising others for being "Debbie Downers," "Negative Nanicies," and for acting like "the sky is falling." It's unfortunately the natural order of things on just about every iteration of a Suns message board (and probably any message board). And really, it's weak.

I give legitimate reasons for every negative view I have. I think most posters here do. Sure you get 1 or 2 posters that just hate for no discernible logical reason. But I think that's rare enough to where we don't have to cry about negativity.
You just have to change that avatar. Then you can be as negative as you want. No one wants to see that much skin on the MoBros except their very rich tat artist.

I have obviously been a critic of his and said I wanted him gone. That remains, but if he would open his eyes and not leave his feet unless he is shooting or blocking, I would be happy with his play here. I really wish that would be pointed out to him during every film session.

I think it is safe to assume that it is. It's weird that we sometimes assume that the great collection of basketball minds that is .net see things the coaching staff & front office don't. I'm sure that it is being repeatedly hammered into Eric's very thick skull at present. It takes a while to change habits, especially bad ones.

I didn't watch the OKC-Blazers game the other day, but here are Westbrook's highlights. My goodness; he was really dominant. Pity he missed a crucial FT at the end.
