I think our roster only makes sense if you assume that our rookies will get literally 0 minutes. Which may be okay, since they can just go to the D-League and get some seasoning there instead. (You could even throw our sophs in there, too.) If you just pretend that Warren, Ennis, and perhaps Len and Goodwin are all not on the roster, THEN our roster looks fairly balanced and makes a lot more sense. I think it's just our FO implicitly showing that they either don't trust the young guys yet or that they don't want to put any pressure on them to contribute right away.

I think Horny will find a way to get TJ some minutes. He is too good to leave him out. Maybe not in every game, but in spots his number will be called. Ennis not so much.

Yeah, I didn't think it was JJ. That kind of rings a bell, Sir Charles.

Agreed. I think TJ will be too talented not to get playing time.

Lon Babby just told Doug and Wolf that Bledsoe always wanted to remain in Phoenix, and that his apparent apathy toward the city and team was entirely a negotiation tactic.

He has to say that. But that's also the way Bledsoe should act to get the best deal. You don't go tell your boss you really want to stay here during contract negotiations.

The player that just doesn't fit at all onto this roster is Ennis. Just counting down the days until the FO admits their mistake and trades him for a 2nd round pick. No idea what they were thinking there.

People keep saying it's fine he'll just go down to the D-league. For how long, 8 years? It's not like Dragic, Bledsoe or IT2 are veterans soon to retire.

My guess regarding Ennis is that first, McD saw a trade opportunity. The Raptors were in love with him, to the point that they had a deal in place to take Prince's contract from Memphis and their pick, but not enough to move Terrence Ross, which is what supposedly the Suns were asking for.

Still, even after that scenario didn't materialize, at that point our PGs were 'just' Goran, Ish and Bledsoe under an iffy contract status. Ish was decent at times but his place as third guard was clearly upgradeable. That's where a young rookie PG comes in play.

But then the Suns saw an opportunity with IT, as he wanted out of Sacto and the Kings weren't interested in keeping him either. We got probably the biggest bargain of the offseason, but at the cost of leaving Ennis as the clear odd man out.

I also think Ennis will be moved but I don't think they will be in a rush to do it. I do think we have assets to make a move if we wanted to. Morris twins, Ennis, Goodwin, a couple of nice picks next year. We couldn't get Ibaka or anything but a guy like Millsap should be available.

I could Thomas being moved. Hope not, but he's got a very friendly contract and if we can move him, with a pick, green and the Morri for a decent big...

I think Green is the most obvious one to be moved - he plays SG & SF where the Suns have plenty of other options and he's probably never going to have more value than right now since he has an affordable expiring contract.

Players don't normally appear as cold and detached as Bledsoe did all last season, so it was a great tactic implemented by the Rich Paul camp. Babby's tone suggested that the media has portrayed Bledsoe incorrectly, as a mercenary.

I could see Ennis being that player that fills in for as the bench pg when one of the top three go down. I don't see him as being in the DLeague for years, just developing, working and maturing there so he doesn't become a lost asset.

I really don't see the purpose of bringing these extra four guys to camp:

Just to fill out four full teams for practice?

Maybe you are just on spot. We are developing quite a group of young players so we can throw different combinations during the scrimmage, and therefore the practice squad, instead of being compressed by the rookies, would have these other guys to throw against combinations of clear starters, rotation guys and rookies, as well as allowing more rest for the veterans while the rookies are kept on full steam rythm.
