THE BREAKS OF THE GAME may be the best basketball book I've read.Mori Chu wrote:There are some great Moses stories in the book Breaks of the Game, which chronicles the Walton Blazers. I highly recommend it.
And I've read a bunch of them!

Here is a fun Reddit NBA thread asking the users to name an idea that would improve the NBA in the future. Some interesting and creative stuff in there; a fun read.

Raja Bell is stepping down from his job on the Cavs staff. Says he wants more "family time." Hmm...

It's as close to Phx from L.A. as it is to San Fran from L.A. So...idk.

Who cares if he develops part-time players?
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Well he did play at Santa Clara, so he is familiar with the area.

I think teams have to start involving fans in the design process of uniforms. Maybe they should let them vote on a number of different designs then choose the best of those themselves. What we are getting is not very good. Occasionally you'll get a redesign like the Bucks that goes over well but more often than not it's sad trombone time when these things are unveiled.

It's becoming more popular. The team may ask for designs and incorporate the good ones into the rebrand or may put out a few options and let fans vote.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Dang, that news about Nash really hurts. Shows you how badly we treated him as a franchise. Wants no connection with us now that his playing days are done. Makes me sad.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Also, those Rocket uniforms really suck and also look like they were designed by the same bonehead who made our new uniforms.
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
I think what it shows is this business is about people, not companies. And in the end, Nash had a better connection to Kerr/Welts than Sarver/Babby/whomever. No big surprise there. Also, I bet they reached out, and we didn't.Mori Chu wrote:Dang, that news about Nash really hurts. Shows you how badly we treated him as a franchise. We don't HAVE to make Nash a member of the front office. Nostalgia is nice and all, but I'm happy with a front office of no-names if they do their jobs well.
Precious Achiuwa, Dalano Banton, Batum, Chris Boucher, Amir Coffey, Tre Jones, Laravia, Mamukelashvili, Tre Mann, De'Anthony Melton, Minott, Nance, Chris Paul, GP2, T. Prince, Reed, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, Tate, Watford, Yabusele
Re: Around the League: The Offseason
Me too. But the perspective he has on things could be very helpful to any organization. I am not pissed he isn't here; I think this is just me whining that what could/should have been us 5-10 years ago is now GS. Oh, and they backed out of that damn trade...Shabazz wrote:We don't HAVE to make Nash a member of the front office.
