Around the 4 min. mark, he thanks the Suns for "accommodating to my wishes."
Well, there you go. You have to be happy that the Suns did that for him. Right?
Not as a Suns fan. I'm not happy about it at all lol. As a fan of DA, I'm happy for him.

It sounds to me like it was either like a "soft/private standing trade request" at least for this offseason or he at least expressed to the FO that it was his preferred outcome. But he certainly would have shown up and not caused a stink about it if they didn't trade him. And they weren't going to take an absolute garbage trade (like the Dallas offer) and were only going to accomodate his wishes if they found a deal they felt was good enough (which, unfortunately, they felt with this trade).

I would have kept him to start the season, and then reevaluate before the trade deadline how it was working, chemistry, etc., and whether he still wanted out or liked playing for Vogel.

Then you subject the team to another big shift mid season, I'd rather have avoided that since last year had plenty of bumps.

Fair enough but it’s got to make it a little more palatable for you. The Suns were honoring his wishes.

And that did seem to be a point of emphasis; I think that the front office and coaching want to feel like they have a chance to create some continuity during the course of the season this year. Vogel specifically talked about that as a big advantage for Denver, since most of their major players have been together for a few years now. It'd be kind of nice to see the revolving door stop for a minute so the team can figure out who they are.

It helps me be a little less angry at the org yes. ;)

By the way, Vogel reiterated today on 98.7 that he wanted to coach Ayton and is disappointed he doesn't get that chance. Gambo again says Vogel really wanted him, but there were more people in the organization who didn't want him than who did.

Hate to be that guy but here's some Billups/Ayton stuff

How many days are left on the clock to start blaming Billups for Ayton's shortcomings?

DA's not the best or most prepared speaker so I don't know that he formally asked for a trade going off of what he said today. He might've just told the team he wanted a better opportunity this season and that's now coming to him in a Blazers uniform. You just don't know with DA, like his "best teammates I've ever been around" comment this summer. No doubt he's happier in Portland and has been raw with things since the contract stuff. I think both sides were just tired of each other. Vogel was willing to roll with DA because he's new and hadn't experienced things with him, but I think everyone else from Jones on down, maybe even higher, felt like DA wasn't the right fit on or off the court for the things we want to accomplish.

I mean I think even Jeremy would agree that he shouldn't be saying stuff like that. That's not his game. He's a finesse guy. Sure, I guess it's technically possible to dominate a game with big stats and high percentages but domination is usually associated with physicality which is not his game. He's once again setting himself up for failure.
