If after all the dust settles KD isn't in PHX and we still have a disgruntled Ayton on the roster, somebody needs fired..
I'd rather move ahead with Ayton than gut the team for KD. I hope we stay strong and don't cave in to demands.
You'd rather pay a ~50-ish guy that doesn't want to be here than trade a bunch of players not in our top 2 for a top 5 NBA player that said he did want to be here?

Gambo is getting jealous and going after FLEX now. Heh heh.
It would be really good news if Gambo's sources don't know as much as Flex's, because that would mean Sarver is not involved.

Here's what I don't want. A team of KD, Book, and Paul with a bunch of scrubs.

50-ish? I though you were talking about KD for a minute.

Agreed. That team would be brittle and have problems on defense. We really need to keep some of our wings and guard depth.

Guard depth? You’re gonna pass on KD over losing Landry Shamet and Cam Payne?

I have the same concerns. We lose Mikal and Cam in the trade and don’t address the center position and we’re last year’s lakers.

I don’t think CP/Book/Jae/KD/Biz is a championship team. It will struggle mightily against bigger lineups.

I've already got KD fatigue, still bummed we punted the draft so there isn't a new rookie to discuss, ho hum.

Hope the new euro kid plays well in SL I guess.

Are any of you guys refreshing Twitter every 20 minutes to see whether KD has gotten traded? Asking for a friend.

We don’t have guard depth, I don’t know what Mori is talking about. We have Booker, Paul and The Garbagio Duo off the bench

I am still cool if we keep Ayton if we strike out on KD. In that event JJ has to have a plan to flip Jae for a 3rd guard.

Still very confident something gets done, way less confident it get done in the next couple days like I originally thought. Feels like we won’t hear something until mid-end of next week. News will probably drop when I’m watching Thor smh lol

Seems like there are two factors holding up the deal.

1. Ayton - I don't totally buy the Nets being uninterested in him. I think the situation would be different if he and his agent didn't have this delusion about being a max-level player. The Nets don't want to be hard capped, which I think is wise on their part. I think both sides (Brookly & Ayton) would prefer to find a third team for that reason, but maybe that would change if Ayton lowered his contract demand.

2. Mikal - I've always thought he'd be the player haggled over the most since this news broke. I think the Suns will ultimately have to include him, but hopefully at the expense of holding onto Cam and other rotation players.

Ayton and Mikal with a bunch of picks is on par with every conceivable deal I've heard. Toronto isn't going to trade Siakam and Anunoby, Boston isn't going to trade Brown and Smart, Maimi isn't going to (can't) trade Adebayo and Herro, etc.

I thought it's illegal for Brooklyn to trade for Ayton because they're already over the hard cap?

Not the case if KD is going out or if Kyrie is traded first.
