That’s cool on Walzs son…. Closest thing you’ll find to a Trump kid feeling an emotion like that is telling them they’d have to fly charter somewhere.
Yeah, the real people ratio between the democrats and the republicans is off the charts in favor of the dems. The Trump family is so out of touch with reality and show all the emotion of a robot.

In general I think we should avoid trashing the families of these politicians unless they explicitly choose to involve themselves in campaigns and politics. I especially feel that way for the younger children; if they're 40 or whatever, fine, but leave the teens and young'uns out of things.

And of course some MAGA folks are making fun of Walz and his son for the show of emotion last night. It's that old-school view of masculinity, where showing genuine emotion, showing tears, being sensitive are seen as "not manly" or bad things. IMO this is quite reductive and out of touch, and it's too bad that they don't see the positives in men being able to show such genuine feeling and attachment for their families.
And here, oddly, is somebody criticizing Ben Shapiro for *not* attacking Walz and his son. Shapiro says it is a nice moment, and they knock him for it. LOL.

I think I agree with the point that has been made by some pundits, that Kamala is a better general election candidate than primary candidate, and that she benefits greatly from (a) being able to run as "not the incumbent" despite being part of the current administration, and (b) not having been through a grueling primary where she would have had to promise things to the left and also get torn up by fellow Democrats along the way to getting a nomination. Instead she can just show up as the nominee, choose how to define herself, what policy positions to make clear vs which to keep more ambiguous, and she doesn't have to "pivot" from a more left-pleasing primary set of policies to a more moderate set for a general election.

Kamala has a new ad out. I like this angle of showing all his past cabinet members and quoting them saying that he is dangerous and unfit. It really is unprecedented to have a President have so many people from his own administration saying they don't support him for re-election.
