Even when we get butler, I’d still want to get bigger.

Again, Nurk for Bogi makes us better. But what's that got to do with flipping Allen for first round picks and no talent?

We're not rebuilding. We're fully in win now mode. "First round picks" don't help us win this year unless we're flipping them for something else. They're not going to make trades that make us worse this season and gives us less moveable sizeable contracts to flip. They're fully trying to make this work it may make sense to you (and me), but it's fruitless to discuss what just won't happen.

Regarding shopping Luka around, that would be the sensible thing to do, but I guess not if you are hyperfixated on a specific player, Anthony Davis in this case. Which just adds to the overall display of incompetence.

You'd be surprised how bad some execs and personnel guys are. It's relationships, smoke and mirrors, people failing upward.

I legit think this was Nico putting his personal feelings/preference for AD over the best interests of the org. Not that AD isn't a great player and the Mavs aren't still in a very good spot, but the haul was minimal and the optics around trading your franchise star and top 3-5 player in the league are terrible. Now they're doing a ton of spin airing our all of Luka's dirty laundry.

Grayson's always in a tough spot. He's really good at what he does and he's a luxury if you have him on your team. He won't make a bad team good but he can make a good team better. I think he's perfect as a C+S threat off Book and KD but he always seems expendable.

I'm not really thrilled about the idea of trading Grayson Allen. He has been excellent for us. Last season he led the league in 3pt% and this year after a slow start (very understandable due to the birth of a child) he is now back shooting an extremely efficient clip over the last month or so. He's exactly the sort of player you want next to guys like Book and KD who draw all the defenders and double-teams.

Beal to the Lakers
KD to the Warriors
Suns gets Reaves, Hachimura, Knecht, Wiggins, Kuminga, Vanderbilt, and four 1sts.

They could be flipped again before the deadline or you could potentially draft 1or 2 rotation players for next year. Maybe both? Having players with upside on cheap contracts? Sign me up. What if they develop into an all star? How is that not appealing? Combine picks to trade up, trade down for more assets. If we are gonna be a 2nd apron team then we need to find ways that help us improve for future years too.

I hear you but you have to give up something to get something. If Beal is not moved, Allen is very redundant and while his elite skill is in high demand, he also has gaps to his game as he can't really defend, does not rebound and does not have relevant playmaking ability. Not a kid either at 29yo. If you can use him to get a similar talent in a position/role of need, you need to try.

It's not appealing because the Suns best player is going to be 37 next season. They are fully on board with trying to compete NOW, not in 3-4 years. It's delusional, but it's what it is.

So until they make any sort of hint that they're giving up on that dream, proposing trades that don't immediately benefit our on-court product is the same as dreaming that the Bucks will trade Giannis for Beal.

Allen is not the best complement to KD/Book.

Sure he's an elite shooter but he is so fucking bland and soft.

The Suns need high motor, physical role players to complement their soft stars. Royce, Grayson, Tyus, Mason, Bol Bol....these guys go to In N Out and ask for a burger with meat and buns only, no spread cause it's too spicy.
