TT is nuts if he doesn't take the $80 mil deal and plays on the $6.9 mil one-year qualifying offer. Thinking he's worth $94 mil is ridiculous. Fantastic rebounder but not much on O.

Wow, Bennett might become a free agent:

TT isn't worth 80mi. Harrison Barnes isn't worth 64 mil over 4 and turned that down.

Regarding Bennett, I'd definitely take him and keep Markieff away or try and work a trade. Doubtful the Wolves are interested in Morris tho but who knows.

These new deals make the Bledsoe & Knight deals seem kind of ok. TT is out of his mind. He may not even play much this year if Love is healthy. Huge risk.

Really? That's a jump considering the ring of honor ceremony coming up etc. The more likely scenario is that they offered him a job and we didn't. Also, the job they offered was very appealing to him. Nash is not a loyalty guy. If he is on your team he gives you everything he has. If it's in his own best interest to go somewhere else, he will. He left his best bud Dirk and Dallas to sign for more dough with us. He asked to leave us for the Lakers when it suited him. It's not personal, It's a business. That's all.

I think you are misrepresenting that. Cuban told him he wasn't worth 5 years. It was more about Cuban not believing in him than someone giving him more money. Same when he left here. We told him he wasn't worth 3 more years so he left. Cuban was wrong and we were right (both times).

Bennet got a buyout from Minnesota? Interesting.

My point still stands, to Steve Nash, the nba is a business. There is no indication anywhere that he feels mistreated, or owed anything to any organization. He simply does what makes the most sense for him. That's not a knock on him. If I was an NBA player, I would probably approach it the same way.

I don't see why others see so much drama in what is a basic business decision.

If I'm the Suns, I jump on Bennett before he clears the waiver. All we would have to do is take over the contract, right? Why not? If he develops, great, we have his rights and don't have to outbid another team. If not, super cheap contract, no real hit. I haven't heard anything about him being a bad teammate or locker room problem, I just think it's a low risk/high reward situation. I still think he can be a good player.

I don't think we have the cap room to claim him off waivers.

I agree that it is a business, but that is a very generic term. There are Enron-type businesses and there are your Alcoa-types.

I should have bolded the part I was questioning. I don't think either of these characterizations are well-represented. He didn't leave his best bud for cash. His current boss told him he wasn't wanted there anymore. Same thing here when he went to the Lakers.

Cuban wanted him, just for less money.

I loved it. Its also about LeBron trying to run the league. Rich Paul is nothing without LeBron.

Rich Paul represents a lot of what is wrong with the NBA today.

Interesting how Phoenix bought at the right time and sold with even better timming.

Anecdotically, he would miss a surprising number of dunks, or so it seemed to me.

The Suns definitely sold at the right time on Richardson, and actually got something of real value (Gortat) for him.

I liked JRich a lot when he was here. Solid vet, athletic, pretty good shooter, gave us good performance, fit in well with Nash and the other guys. And as you said, we sold him high for real value right around the time he would start to fall off.
