That's not the point. The point is trying to find some sort of positive here. By any and all accounts, it was a very below average game by Ayton and yet you're making it sound like he played some encouraging basketball.

Lol what? I didn't say a word about how Ayton played.
I was just posting Suns Twitter's "certified expert" on Ayton's play from Blazers Reddit, Piano9717.

More random fan comments?
What happened to y’all’s boy Piano9717 on Reddit? Y’all aren’t going to post what that same fan with the critical comments from the last game said about this game? I thought he was the most credible source that could possibly be found on the interwebs?
Piano9717 from last night: [...]
I genuinely have no idea who "Piano9717" is, lol. The whole "quote a random dude from Twitter/Reddit" thing is not very compelling, neither when arguing for Ayton nor against him. Sometimes individual comments are good for a chuckle, but they don't mean much.
It's only been a few preseason games, so folks should wait a while before making any sweeping conclusions about Ayton or Nurkic or any other player. But at some point, if the argument seems to keep coming back to, "No coach is brilliant enough to use DA correctly!", well, maybe a max player shouldn't need to be so carefully managed in order to be effective. I don't hear the same criticism being made about other top centers in the league, such as Embiid or Jokic or guys of that nature. They just contribute.

So you're pointing out positive praise of his play indirectly and trying to rub it in as some sort of "he's all your boy and he's saying positive things so..". It's easy to see what you're trying to do.

Of course you didn't say a word about how Ayton played, you'd never bad mouth him lol. Instead you whine about his replacement.

Piano dude don’t get it either. Ain’t nobody gonna run their offense through Deandre Ayton. He’s not even the third best offensive option on that team. They’re going to operate through Scoot and Anf and Ayton will be left to set screens and look lost as usual. It’s not because Billups hates Ayton, it’s because Ayton is…….mediocre.
His contract:performance ratio is a huge mismatch

He’s elite at shooting from mid range and hook shots.
He’s average at rebounding.
He’s below average at defending at the rim.
He’s slightly above average at defending on the perimeter.
He’s dead last at dribbling.
He’s whatever at passing.
Doesn’t make for an all star.
There’s no way you should have a max contract if you’re not an all star or at least a Brandon Knight type player

And he’s below average at getting in position to get to that hook shot or making adjustments if teams defend him differently, which renders his go-to move very easy to stop

I think the thing I love most is never having to watch him loaf back down the court after some random turnover or rebound away from his side of the court.

What I'm trying to do is point out the hypocrisy of taking his summary of the first game as gospel, and then dismissing his summary of the second game because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Statistics and history do not back up that assertion.

He was 12th in the league in rebounding last year. The league has 30 teams. Meaning he’s near the middle of all starting centers. If you want to pull hairs, he’s slightly above average.

If it’s in the rankings it must be true!
Enjoy the last few weeks of this debate. By January, nobody will be talking about him leaguewide in a positive or negative way. He’ll be just another overpaid role player on a low level team

Here’s an interesting stat, Ayton only had 5 or more assists a game 3% of his games played with the Suns.
