Very cool!
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

Listening to Doug & Wolf this morning. Doug is saying what the RealGM insider said, the trade request wasn't a surprise.

The front office has known Goran was upset dating back to last year. The Suns felt like his good season meant he was happy. They pushed their luck with the IT signing but did it as Bledsoe cover. They said the list was bullshit. Duffy worked out him going to Miami and it was all posturing to get Miami to cough up the 2nd pick and to find a way to not take back future salary obligations keeping cap space in tact for the Summer.
Go Suns!

Well then, can't fault Dragic for saying what he said, as it was part of a plan, and the Suns didn't betray Goran either. Also, this jives completely with what I felt the team's approach should be regarding our rebuild.

It's all about what stage you're at as a team. The Heat are older, need to contend now, so they will pay for vets. We're building, but pieces of our core are no longer in their rookie contracts, and we need to sustain the momentum or risk losing those pieces. Then there's the Bucks - their key pieces are all on rookie deals, and they're not yet ready to commit to a player like Knight. Then there's the Sixers, who are so deep in bare asset accumulation mode that they're not even willing to keep *players* around.

It's all about that stage, bout that stage... we could've chosen to go the Bucks route by keeping Ennis over Bled and seeking Morris replacements. We didn't. We'll see how it serves us.

Our cap space. They want to sign a max or near max player this Summer while either keeping Knight or S&T'ing Knight somewhere. Draymond Green keeps coming up and I have to admit, a guy that can shoot & guard 3 spots on the floor very well and pass really is what we need. Thing is, you'll have to overpay by a lot to get him.

Yeah it's pretty clear, I ain't no player 2
but I can fake it fake it,
like I am supposed to do
'cause I got that game that all the teams chase
all the right moves in all the right space
I see the wannabes working the trade machine
we know that shit ain't real
so come on trade me now

I feel like there's probably a larger plan here with Knight. S+Ting him could be an option for sure, especially with teams like LA and NY still in need of a starting caliber PG and money to burn. Neither of those teams got the PGs that were available in Jackson and Dragic, and will be willing to deal.

I don't think Green is a max guy. Absolutely loved him coming out of the draft, thought he was way undervalued and overlooked and glad he's showing what he can do. But he works as a stretch for on that team, I wouldn't want him as a 4 on a traditional team.

I'm convinced we have no intention of S&T'ing Knight.

I think we're committed to the 2-PG lineup because post-up 2's are dying. The way the game is played today, offenses are just too good to have your go-to offense net you 44% from 2. It worked in the 90s - it works no longer. If they want to post up one of our guards, we say, have at it. We'll blitz and destroy you.

We'll see.

Unless it's football, I don't pay any attention to Dung and Woof-Woof. And even then, that's a tough listen. Those guys are brutal.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Get ready for a string of Coro tweets. McDonough spitting straight venom. You'll also notice what Doug from D&W said above is confirmed below.

I hope the FO is careful not to bash an outgoing player too much, even if Dragic did diss the Suns team on his way out. Do it with some class, Babby/McD.

Hey, RW, I'm sorry I didn't read your summary of the press conference when I posted the Coro tweets. Thanks for that.

2 wrongs don't make a right....

But why can't The suns defend themseleves against what Goran said in the press?
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

It wasn't as harsh as what Goran did, and still, there has been worse dramas in the NBA regarding disgruntled players and their teams. I even feel it calculated shots to save some face. I feel the one who blinsided someone in here, was Duffy to both the Suns and Goran. As an agent, the worst thing you can hear from your player in a contract year is "I'm very happy here, and I want to quickly resign here." Good bye bonification.

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with them being visibly upset. The veiled selfish pot shot was borderline and convenient, but not egregious.

Babby on Kenny & Crash, a show I don't usually listen to but Babby and McDonough are out in full spin control today:

"I have no quarrel with his desire to leave which is his right in FA. I take personal offense on behalf of myself and the the organization I'm responsible for for what I would describe as totally unwarranted dispersions he cast on the front office. To me our integrity and trustworthiness is the most important thing we have. I take tremendous pride and tremendous steps to make sure we work at the highest levels of professionalism. I would simply say Goran is wrong and I think those comments reflect poorly on him frankly and I think were disappointing. Everything else he said about wanting to leave thats his prerogative but I think those were totally unfounded. If his feathers got ruffled while he was here it was because we were doing our job and that's finding a way to get to the championship level."
