^Is that a contender though? I wonder if the front office thinks that LA can carry us to a championship.

It's on, beetches. :o

Maybe we're thinking about keeping Markieff as a 6th man?

Edit - clears 8.42M for a total of 21M in cap space. Enough to sign LMA outright. Then S&T for Chandler and Knight inks his deal?

1) Good riddance

2) Definitely a salary dump for an upcoming move.

LOVE IT.

And we didn't have to give up much in assets, I like that move.

So we can sign Aldridge outright now but would still have to be a S+T for LA to get that 5th year right?

Does he want 5 years? I didn't think he wanted to sign for that long.

What about Chandler? Would we still need a S+T for him to sign LMA or can we just sign them both now?

No, we'd probably have to trade Morris & Tucker with a first or two for Chandler. OR just move them to someone else with space though I don't know who that is just now.

Here's the thing though. We only move Markieff IF LMA is coming. Cause we would have zero PFs on the team otherwise. Tucker I think we could probably live without.

Tucker opens up PT for Warren. I think Warren would thrive in a clean-up role in a front court alongside Aldridge and Chandler/Len.

Chandler/Len
LMA/Amare?
Warren/Goodwin?
Knight/Booker
Bledsoe/?

Could be pretty solid if Archie, TJ, and Alex show improvement.

Edit . . .

The Mavs might not necessarily want to help us, but Portland looks like they're going to be in a rebuilding mode anyway. They might find facilitating an LMA deal for a couple of first rounders and 'Kieff/Tucker worth it, and we can just sign Chandler outright.
