So we ended up getting a better deal for Keef, despite character issues, than the Nets got for Thad. Not bad.
Keef's contract was 50% better than Young's.

I think the Teague trade is a pretty good comp for what Knight is worth. Lower 1/3 of lottery alone and maybe top half if combined with #13.

Knight is 3 years younger then Teague too. He also is locked into a long trm deal where Teague isn't

Very true. But Teague has been part of a winning team and an allstar while Knight has been mainly losing and developing a reputation as a ballhog/chucker. I'd be happy with a lotto protected pick in 2017 attached to some expiring crap.

What does "growing sense" mean? I assume it means that it seems like the logical thing for the Suns to do, not that the Suns are actually shopping players.

Unclear, but it probably means somebody got some phone calls from the Suns and leaked it to Stein. Phone calls are sometimes serious and sometimes just exploring or spitballing, but it probably means we're at least putting feelers out to see what if anything we could get for one of our guards.

I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY want them to find a way to trade for Rubio. I would be completely pumped about this offseason if they can find a way to do that. I hope Thibs decides Rubio isn't his kind of player and sells low on him. Pretty pretty pleeeeeeease Minny.

I would like to get Rubio too, but it will probably take at least another team involved. I would rather have a Rubio and Ulis backcourt to start next season than a Bledsoe and Knight one. Just want to see the pg get the ball out, run and get it to the shooters and athletes in positions to score. Seemed that Bledsoe and Knight only passed to get the ball back, at least that's how it felt.

I agree with you.

It appears that at least two of our newcomers, Dragan & Ulis, are willing passers. I think the same has been said of Criss. Ulis had the 2nd best assist to turnover rating in college basketball last year and is advertised as a pass first point guard. Watson has said that he wants ball movement or you will sit. Prior to these additions we only had one legitimate willing sharer of the ball, Booker. I would love to see Rubio setting the stage for the rest of these guys.

I believe we are in the minority on this issue, so be it.

Chandler & Bledsoe for Rubio and Pekovic

I got that Minny just drafted Dunn, and already have LaVine, but I think there is still room for Bledsoe in that rotation, specially if they are going to try to be competitive this year, and not just develop their core.

I don't want Pekovic.

No one does I think, I'm for a simple swap.

Pek's contract (12.1M this year, 11.6 next) is pretty nasty for a guy who probably couldn't crack our rotation, if he can even be healthy. I was willing to take it on as part of a package for the #5 pick, but I'm not willing to do it just to facilitate a Rubio-Bledsoe swap.

so 15M < Bledsoe contract?

What are everyone's free agency predictions? Are we expecting any big moves? Horford, Whiteside, Derozan, Batum, Gasol, and Howard seem like the big names that could move.

I think Whiteside to the Knicks could be fun. I'd like to see the warriors bring in Joakim Noah, that could be really fun if he's healthy.

The deal that was discussed before the draft was Rubio (13.4, 14.1, 14.8), Pek (12.1, 11.6) and #5 for Bledsoe (14.0, 14.5, 15.0) and Tucker (5.3, or 1.5 if waived by 6/30) and probably a lower pick. We'd have taken on more salary than we sent out, but we have the cap room to do it and it's part of the price of getting the #5.

Take the #5 out of the picture and there's no reason to take on Pek's contract or send out a cheap and useful player like Tucker. A Bledsoe-Rubio swap might still make sense, but leave Pek and Tucker out of it.

I'm worried that we will make some move that brings in talent but makes no sense in the big picture, like bringing in a vet who will get us a few wins but will take minutes from our young guys and make our pick worse. Gasol or Horford are examples of guys like that.

why would you want rubio? the guy's not a good nba player and is not an expiring contract

i dont think so anymore now that the suns have acquired two stretch 4s. mcdo will try to make the players and develop bender and chriss at the same time.
