If there's one thing this front office has proven, it's that they aren't afraid to overload any position. What's to stop them from keeping Bled, Fox, Ulis, Booker, and Barbosa? That would be very consistent with the pattern. They would tell us how Booker has worked on leg strength and grown an inch, so now he can play SF.

Booker at sf isn't the problem. He's a poor defender at any position. Fox and Bled are both significantly more effective with the ball and are shaky spot up shooters. I think, or at least hope, that management is smart enough to learn from their mistakes and to realize fox/bled doesn't work as a backcourt.

Yep. I have been proposing to do this. I think there is a good chance we get Jackson at 4 but I would want to take all the risk out of it. I would not want some team to swoop in with a trade. I would do it without Bayless altogether.

My personal preference has been to trade for 2 picks if we can. I really like Ntilik's upside, and would love to get someone like Isaac who I think can make our other guys look better by playing 3&D well. But that was before I thought we had a chance at Jackson. I really like the idea of that ++SF who can defend, move, and keep the ball moving.

McD's patterns:
He likes to take foreign players.
He likes Kentucky guards.
He like to get younger players.
He doesn't surprise us by drafting a player "too high"

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on Mathias Lessort. He's a 6'9 250 lb French big man who's putting up good numbers in Europe. 21 years old. His per 40 stats are basically
18 points, 12 boards, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 1 assist on 60% shooting from the field. He's got good size and is a good athlete. Here's his draft express video.

Interesting take reading other team's message boards.

1. There are a LOT of Laker's fans that are not high on Lonzo. They want Jackson.
2. Philly fans seem to think that Simmons will play pg next year. Yes. They want Jackson.

I think I might be more amazed if Jackson falls to us than if Ball does.

I haven't mentioned it in this thread, but I think Monk is the wildcard at the top of this draft. I think he's a legit scorer in the NBA. Some team may grab him as high as 3, or he could fall all the way to 8. Right now, Draft Express has him at 6, partly because he has been overshadowed by the emergence of Fox, and partly because people dismiss hi due to his size. Dennis Smith could move in front of him and there's always at least one team who takes a big guy too high. That would drop him all the way to 8. Some team could get a steal.

I really like him, I'm just not sure how he fits next to Booker.

Bledsoe to NYK for the 8th pick is interesting if Ntilik or Monk are still on the board.

My early guess is Philly takes monk at 3. Although they may look to trade back with a team who covets fox(Sacramento?) and pick up an extra asset. Then take monk at 5. He just makes so much sense for them.

Interesting takes on Bender, for me that was one of the unfortunate things of the post all star break youth movement. Would have been good if he hadn't missed out on those 15-20 games when Ulis and Jones jr started getting consistent playing time like Chriss because he's basically behind everybody right now

I don't think Monk goes that high and I don't think he's the best pick for Philly unless they really think Simmons is going to play the point like 80% of the time and be effective in that role. Then you can getting a scoring guard to play off the ball. Otherwise Fox is a lock, let him put it all together and feed Simmons, Saric, Embiid and Covington. I think he's an elite PG you can't pass up.

If McD is drafting BPA, it's Fox. I see so much Westbrook and Wall potential in his body, skills and play style.

Their coach says he plans to play Simmons as the pg and not just as a point forward. Simmons will bring the ball up and run the offense. Simmons loses a lot of value if you take the ball out of his hands. I don't think Fox and Simmons are a great fit together, but monk would be great as an off ball guard next to Simmons.

I really like fox and he's got some Westbrook/wall in him, but he's quite a bit smaller and not as explosive. I think his ceiling is somewhere between Conley and Wall.

RE Bender - I predict he'll improve his 3-point shooting considerably over the next few seasons. His shot looks very flat right now, but that seems more of an issue of strength and getting acclimated to the NBA line. His form is very nice. I think he just needs reps and he seems to have a good work ethic.

Agreed. In the first 41 games, he shot .338 from 3. That's pretty good for a 7'1" 18yr old. He'll be a good enough shooter.

Fox may not be available, even if he is that good.
