League Pass Alert: Nets about to maybe beat Cavs.

EDIT: Update: Yup, they beat 'em. Big win for that team.

The beat Cavs, without D'angelo Russel and Lebron with a triple double.

Brooklyn is playing tough. Their pick might not be so great. Think maybe 8-10 instead of top 5

League Pass alert. Dubs are losing to the Raptors at home. We could be the same record as the Warriors at the end of the night after all that nonsense to start the season. O.o

I tuned in. I'm expecting a lot of crying from the Dubs.

Toronto playing like they are coached by Watson here at the end. Iso's everywhere.

I jinxed them. Durant and Curry scored the final 10 points while their defense Curry-Klay-Iggy-Durant-Draymond shut them down.

Just watched the Lakers knock off the Wiz-ards in OT overcoming a bad shooting night by Ball (2-11) but he had 10 dimes and 6 boards. Wall was supposed to "put Ball in a blender" and shot like 7 of 22 or something.

Despite how awful our Suns are, I think this is a really fun NBA season. And I think the league in general is in a great state. Lots of talent, a mostly fast/fun playing style league-wide, great rookie class, etc.

Did you miss our last two games? :)

For all the talk of timelines and rebuilds, the Nets have quietly done things the right way. Not saying they're contending any time soon, but even last year you saw the foundation being laid down. Kenny Atkinson is a great coach who had last years team playing hard and executing every night. Some teams run plays, some teams execute. The Nets last year, despite the lack of talent and Ws, stayed executing and playing hard. He never lost that team. They took unheralded young players and gave them playing time, developed them and then added more talent to that.

I still can't believe the Lakers used Russell to dump the Mozgov contract.

If the Lakers are able to attract a major pieces, it will be worth it to them, right?

Also, I'm pretty sure that the Nets were happy to use Lopez to get a center that isn't always hurt and a young #2 pick with a ton of talent that they couldn't otherwise get because of their previous sins.

I hope it works out for the Nets and is a HUGE loss for the Lakers.

The right way? The Nets are examples of the WRONG way. They traded away all their future draft assets to get over rated vets in a win now frenzy. Then they had nothing to build with. They got lucky because the Lakers signed players to horrible contracts. They got a really good player in DLo for nothing.

They are turning it around now, but they are no way a model for the right way.

OK, OK. I guess I over reacted. You are talking about coaching philosophy and player development. I suppose they are improving there, but even that has been recent.

They had to move Russell. He and Lonzo wouldn't have co-existed. But yeah, maybe could have done a better deal.

Magic didn't like D'Angelo's character. Remember he snitched on a teammate and showed other signs of inmaturity.

I think LAL could have gotten BRY to eat even more salary for him.

I meant these past 2 years when they hired Marks and Atkinson for the rebuild. When they first got to BK and Prokhorov was looking to make a splash, they did everything wrong in mortgaging their future to make a mark in NY and win games.

This is the heart of it. I think Russel and Ball could have worked great together, from a basketball perspective. It was really about Magic wanting to move a player before the shit hit the fan in the locker room.

His team still lost, though. Seems like they are just a Bledsoe away from contending! ;-)
