No surprise, we might not see him the rest of the year. I'm ready to see what Bender/Chriss does at the 4/5 or go with the Payton/Booker/Jackson/Warren/Bender small ball lineup

when you've got the worst record in the league, stability is a bad thing!

Did Gordon and Payton play well together? I am not sure how I feel about signing two players from the Magic to big bucks, given that their team performed so badly with those as its featured players. We've seen direct evidence of that team not working well. I do like Gordon, but I worry about his shooting and the contract he'll command.

That's fair. Orlando's biggest problem has been their lack of shooting and Payton and Gordon were two of the biggest culprits. Their hot start this year was with Gordon, Vucevic, and Fournier shooting out of their minds. It could be tough to put Payton/Jackson/Gordon together if they don't become at least average shooters and you'd want that fifth guy to be an elite shooter with Booker.

I don’t see the point of Gordon. If we sign him, we'll have to trade Warren, who might not bring much in a trade and is about on the same level as Gordon.

Why would we have to trade Warren?

Or Jackson. The three of them play the same position.

I'd play Gordon at the 4. He'd take over Chriss spot in my mind.

I dunno, I’d kinda like a PF to have size, and rebound, and defend. Especially considering that our other PF, Bender, is kinda weak inside. Granted, Gordon would probably be an improvement over Chriss, but not worth what he’d cost.

Gordon is a bit undersized but I think his offensive game is better suited to the 4. Truth is, if what we see now is what we get, I wouldn't bother. I'm counting on his shot becoming more consistent and his crazy athleticism to manifest defensively.

For all the crap Chriss gets (and deservedly so), it’s worth noting that he rebounds at the same rate as Gordon and has a much better DRPM. I’d rather hope that Chriss' shot gets better than pay a lot more to hope that Gordon's shot gets better.

Gordon's the bad kind of tweener. He's like a bigger version of Shawn with a bit better offense and worse defense. Hard pass on giving him a big money deal.
Also we just traded for their point guard. Do we really need their PF? It's not like we're taking players away from a really good team.

I wonder if Sarver wants to make a big splash in free agency, and so we will overpay to be able to tell fans "at least we got something".

Gordon would be fine as the 4th best player on a middling team.

In the right environment, Gordon would be good. Just don't know if the Suns are that environment. I want Ayton for his versatility of being a 4 or 5.

"I think Tyson is going to retire this summer."
One can only hope so.
But my guess is the FO will allow him to stagger through the final year of his contract.
