Because their last game went into 3OT.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 1:54 amI don't mind the loss. But why is our supposedly young team so tired with nothing left in the tank on a back-to-back? Don't we start 3 rookies? Isn't our best player under 25? Shouldn't they all be able to run two games in a row if they need to? Oh well. At least Ayton had big numbers.
LOL...Come on Marty, get your ass out there and play a triple OT and then we'll ask why you're dogging it the next dayXylus wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 5:11 amBecause their last game went into 3OT.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 1:54 amI don't mind the loss. I wouldn't have played Booker & TJ more than the first 6 and last 6 of each half meaning 24 minutes. I knew that was out the window when Igor sent Booker back in with 8 min remaining in the first half. People forget that the team has to travel, do shootaround, all this other stuff in 24 hours. Yes it's on a private plane but it's still tiring.
There has to be a way to search and see how often a team wins on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after playing in 3 OTs the night before. I am guessing that team is under 20%.Xylus wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 5:11 amBecause their last game went into 3OT.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 1:54 amI don't mind the loss. Fine, obviously playing a 3OT thriller the night before is a big handicap. But we have a bench full of guys who didn't play much or at all. Where was Dragan Bender? Where was Daniels? Why not 35-40 minutes in the second game for Melton? Why do a bunch of guys under 25 have so much trouble bouncing back?Indy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 3:05 pmThere has to be a way to search and see how often a team wins on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after playing in 3 OTs the night before. I am guessing the sample size is pretty small.Indy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 3:05 pmThere has to be a way to search and see how often a team wins on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after playing in 3 OTs the night before. I figured if I said "there has to be a way" you would do the manual part.Cap wrote: ↑Tue Dec 25, 2018 9:27 amI am guessing the sample size is pretty small.Indy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 3:05 pmThere has to be a way to search and see how often a team wins on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after playing in 3 OTs the night before. ETA: 53 regular-season 3OT games in the past 35 years. http://bkref.com/tiny/0osf0 Figure some 20ish teams had another game the next day.
As for “There has to be a way,” that table is small enough that you can check it out manually if you really want to — just click through to each of the box scores and from there to the next game.
OK, I’ll get this started. First, sort them by date: http://bkref.com/tiny/TsmQLIndy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 25, 2018 2:09 pmI figured if I said "there has to be a way" you would do the manual part.Cap wrote: ↑Tue Dec 25, 2018 9:27 amI am guessing the sample size is pretty small.Indy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 3:05 pmThere has to be a way to search and see how often a team wins on the 2nd night of a back-to-back after playing in 3 OTs the night before.
