Well, Sarver has proven he can't work long-term with competent basketball executives, he wants to surround himself with "yes men" who allow him to have input even though he's not qualified to make the day-to-day decisions to operate the team effectively.
I actually think it's good news to hear that there are concerns around the league, maybe there will be some pressure on Sarver to change his ways and hire somebody competent and let them do their job.
But I'm not holding my breath.

“He’a not on the road very much”. Sigh
Hopefully getting called out on a national stage embarrasses sarver into some kind of action - and that action actually helps!
I know we'll all be over the moon one day when the team finally returns to glory.
Only those of us who outlive Sarver.
He probably has an Eric or Donald Jr. equivalent he'll leave the team to.
Hopefully it will be more like a Bill Bidwill handing things over to Michael Bidwill situation.
Because the Cardinals are good?

“Are you crazy?! You think I’m going to go for seven years and try to get there? You enjoy the 2030 draft picks that we have holding? I want to try to see the game today.” — Ish 3/13/25

Yes, compared to how they used to be.
During their 45 seasons under Bill, they had 5 playoff games (2 in 19 years in Arizona in 1 season).
During their 12 seasons since Michael became President, they've had 9 playoff games (in 4 different seasons, including 2 NFC Championship appearances and 1 Super Bowl appearance).
During their 45 seasons under Bill, they had 14 seasons of .500 or better (2 in 19 years in Arizona). During their 12 seasons under Michael, they've had 8 seasons of .500 or better.
"I'm a Deandre Ayton guy."--Al McCoy, September 21, 2022.
Basically, "We haven't had much success in the draft, so don't expect much success from us in the future."
They can certainly afford to give up on the draft because we're drawing some quality free agents and have been making some very significant trades.

I LOVE how the Suns are getting roasted on Twitter today.
I also love Jones' quote about "using technology" as a replacement for scouting because they haven't had success in the last few drafts, which a) is absurd and b) likely means that their unpaid intern is watching highlight videos on Youtube and reporting back to Jones with their findings.
That interview with Jones was worrisome. You're sitting in row 4 instead of row 12 and that is improving your scouting? How do you say that with a straight face?
The whole thing is a joke. I didn't get the quote about them not drafting well? "We haven't had great success scouting the draft"...We've drafted Booker, Ayton, TJ, Josh, Mikal....Bender, Chriss and Len were busts, fine...but I think we've drafted decently. And what it does say about the guy on the team we've drafted? Maybe I'm just interpreting that quote the wrong way?
I did like his quote about us being competitive for stretches and needing to do it for 48 minutes. I've said there are times we look really good but only for 4-5 minute stretches and then we lose it. Gotta put together a full 48.
You don't lose 17 straight game just because of a lack of effort.
This team doesn't have the talent to compete for a playoff spot. Playing hard will only do so much for you.
I was willing to cut them some slack last year because I think they were still the talent accumulation mode. But when you have three 1st round picks, including the top pick in the draft you expect some sort of progress. But all we've seen is more of Sarver's dysfunction.
But enough of the scapegoating. Sarver needs to own up that he's the main reason a once-proud franchise has crumbled and become the league's laughingstock.

Zion or bust guys. There’s the scouting report. Any other pick is trade fodder. The leauge knows and smells blood in the water. We will have to overpay for any trade worth making or free agent signing.
