Players who get caught taking banned substances always use the same excuse. "I didn't know what I put in my body." Sure, you didn't. Somebody handed you some magic beans and you swallowed them. I suspect the use of PEDs is more widespread than we want to know about. How else do these guys show up with +15 lbs of muscle in such a short offseason? Super disappointed that Ayton is out for that many games (if upheld), but I don't blame the league for taking a strong stance against the use of illegal drugs, especially if they are used to give a competitive advantage on the court.

Very disappointed in Ayton, especially if he was covering up PED usage. Remember when he was worried during last season about how he needed to bulk up in the offseason in order to go against some of these NBA bigs? I hope he didn't think that PEDs was the answer for that.

Fucking A man. It’s illegal for us to be happy. If this is upheld then there goes our feel good season.

Absolutely gutted. I’d not been this positive about our Suns for a long time. I’d been telling everyone this side of the pond to try and catch a game or two if we are shown live, also pumping us up for highlights etc. Now this. So disappointed.

I wonder if we'll try to pick up another backup center?

The NBPA has the ability to expedite two cases a year with the league, and sources say it's likely the union will use one of them on Ayton to try to get him back on the court as soon possible.

The timing is terrible for the Suns, who beat Sacramento on opening night Wednesday behind 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks by Ayton.

Ayton would lose $2.17 million over a 25-game suspension.

I haven't slept on it yet, but I've had plenty of time to think about it.

I'm all for fair play. Whatever that means to me is likely to be different from some, and certainly different from the NBA. I can't say I know for certain, but I'm pretty damn sure that nearly everyone in the league has tried something to gain an edge. I'm not mad at that at all. We're talking about their livelihood. It's just frustrating that our guy got caught and he was negligent enough to get caught, quite honestly.

He fucked up at the worst point in his (very short) career so far. He'll always say that it wasn't intentional but we'll have no way of ever knowing for sure. The best we can do is hope that it gets reduced and move forward with any outcome. I believe in this coaching staff and I don't think this will take the Suns from being contenders to the draft lottery. (My over 29.5 wins bet is another story, FFS.)

It's a lesson for a guy who we should see in a Suns uniform for the next 15 years, so lets not get carried away. The road is long, and this is just a flat tire while merging onto the highway.

hope they are able to cut the suspension to 10 games. but a baynes, saric, rubio, booker, oubre starting five is not bad.
