NEW YORK KNICKS - 8th Pick
Needs: Everything! They seem to have 2 solid pieces in RJ Barrett and Mitch Robinson. Randle is under contract but isn't a fan favorite with his tunnel vision on offense and lack of D. They have a bunch of guards in DSJ, Elf Payton and Frank Nkitlinaiaita but none are seen as future pieces. Knox is still an intriguing but frustrating 6-9 SF going into his 3rd but has hardly locked down a role and may be part of any trades for a vet. Taj is a solid vet under contract who knows Thibs' system and can play 4/5. Portis has a TO this season, hard to believe he'll be back. They really need to shake out the roster, figure out RJ Barrett's true role and add shooters to one of the worst shooting rosters in the league.

ShelC's pick - KIRA LEWIS JR. - Lewis gives them an athletic, scoring PG with shades of D'Aaron Fox to put in the backcourt next to Barrett. Frank, Elf and DSJ are not part of the regime's long term plans and haven't proven themselves to be true NBA PGs. Vassell is the better shooter but they really need a PG of the future given the way the league is trending and also to take the pressure of Barret from having to do too much. The Knicks FO met and had dinner with Lewis in Miami, I think this is the way they go. Vassell or Hayes would be the next choices IMO. I didn't expect Hayes to be on the board here and he may be their guy if he's around but Lewis is my pick and I'm sticking to it.

Yep, no way that the Hawks and I weren't taking him at 6 when he was still available. He and Trey will make a formidable backcourt.

In all fairness, at that point I do think you have to take him. His potential is too high. I’m sure he’ll go top 3 when it’s all said and done, but I’m not a believer.
