Popovich was ripping Paul in the post-game hug. "Why don't you make a fucking free throw" was pretty easy to read off his lips.
Yeah but his missed free throws were probably because he injured his knee on the previous play.

I missed the game and went back and watched from literally this play in the video. I was also very impressed with Deandre down the stretch. Him, CP3 and Cam were fantastic.

Sir please don't utter that word and CP3 in the same sentence lol. I get what you're referring to but just say he bumped knees

I saw that; he bonked his knee on the other player and was aggressively rubbing it and wincing on the sideline afterward. I hope it is nothing serious. Right now we would be devastated if CP3 had to miss significant time.

Surprise nobody's talking about it. Even if he just bumped knees, it could be a bone bruise or something.

The Spurs basically had 5 guys guarding Ayton on both of those plays.

Hmm, it feels more like he was bringing the ball across as part of a euro step, to come down and then jump back up for a shot, so that would be strange to be credited as a block.
I don’t know exactly how they determine it, but if CP3 had got arm instead of ball there, it would have been a shooting foul since he he had gathered and was on a drive to the rim. So maybe he doesn’t have to be in a shooting motion for it to be a block.
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that.

I’m full of these stats questions… it sure felt like he had more than 5 turnovers yesterday. If a pass was made and he couldn’t catch it, does he or the passer get credited with the turnover?

I believe they give the turnover to the passer…there might be some wiggle room but I believe whoever last had possession gets the turnover. If Ayton drops or can’t handle the pass he never possessed the back and the turnover would go to whoever passed it.

Thanks, also makes perfect sense. Maybe I'm just magnifying the mistakes in my mind, sure felt like there were more than 8 turnovers between him and CP3 yesterday. Guess a couple of those passes he bobbled were from others, like the over the shoulder pass from CP15.

Ayton had a bad stretch of dropping passes and throwing one off of Cam Johnson's foot in the second half. Much like Shamet missing open 3-pointers, several bad plays in a row can skew the overall picture.
