This is what you get when your summer acquisitions consist of fringe players like Lee, Washington, Okogie and Landale rather than looking for anyone who has established that they can be a consistant contributor.
I get what you are saying, but I don't think I agree. All of those guys are playing great, much better overall than I expected. Jones did a great job finding and acquiring these guys, all on cheap contracts.

We're a mediocre team because our best player is hurt, and because our starting PF tore his ACL, and our other starting PF is on strike. If those three things weren't true, we'd be at/near the top of the West. We're also mediocre because our 38-year-old PG is old. That was somewhat predictable, but I would argue that CP3 has regressed more than one would expect.

I wish we had another guy who could get buckets or lead our offense. But I don't think our bench acquisitions are to blame for how this season is going.

Game ends with a whimper. We turn it over down 6, then fail to even rebound Miami's miss. Now forced to foul. Ballgame. Give the guys some credit for staying (mostly) in this game despite adversity. But then down the stretch we can't execute, can't score, can't get a stop.

Craig and Ayton - 17/31 FG, 54%
Everybody else - 17/51 FG, 33%

Now 4-13 in their last 17 games.

I like the final box score, Ayton was -1 plus-minus, 23 pts 13 rbs on enough shots gives him a chance to make his own mistakes.

Trade CP3 to wherever we can give him a dignified last hurrah while trying to maximize value, keep Book, Mikal, and Ayton together, rest is just filler. Unless you can get great value for Mikal, in which case, slot Cam in. If Book is still out at the all star break, tank while force feeding Ayton.

BTW I think Monty is losing the team. Not that yet is a bad coach, but coaches go through cycles. The one here for him is coming to a close, I feel.

WHAT THE HELL!!! I’m near the end of the first half and they throw the ball into Ayton in the post with Lowry on him and he IMMEDIATELY pass back out to the top of the key. What is wrong with you, dude!!!

Can we hire Hakeem or David as an Asst Coach for him?

Nah, they were playing very hard for him out there tonight

Mikal obviously didn’t shoot well, but I came away impressed with his game. 15/7/4 on 10 shots…that’s what getting to the line will do for you. He’s 20/7/4 is he shoots his averages.

They played hard out there. They're just not very good as a group and Ayton nor Mikal are good enough to carry them against most teams.

Torrey Craig is the only one that gives a damn.

I wonder if CP3 will miss some games now. If so, hoo boy. As if we weren't already the walking wounded. At that point the season may just be lost.

On the Lowe Post today, they said the Suns with CP in the lineup but no Book, were in the 8th percentile in offensive rating.

I finally figured out how to describe the Landry Shamet Poing Guard Experience: it’s what it looks like when someone’s body moves faster than their brain.

It shows. Our offense is anemic.

Good description. Saw a lot of that tonight.

At this point the right Crowder move might be for young players/picks.

Our young talent situation is so bleak that we built (/got forced by the NBA to field) a Summer League team to feature 27-year old 2-way player Ish Wainwright.
