Landry Shamet and his one good game a month needs to be shoved in a cave somewhere for the duration of his contract.
Will go down as one of the worst Suns tenures of all time when it's done (hopefully soon).
Uh, no. He's been disappointing, but I can probably name about 20 or so that were worse.
Yeah but take into account his contract and he's this bad. I mean Josh Childress comes to mind as being worse as well as a certain unnamed Australian center but I can't think of too many more.
Penny Hardaway, James Edwards, Dragan Bender, Rick Robey, Marcus Morris, Marquese Chriss, Josh Jackson, Armen Gilliam, Corky Calhoun, David Thirdkill, William Bedford, Ed Pinckney, to name a few. Most named were first round draft choices, or significant trade targets.

You would think this team would at least be competitive in some of these games.

Now 5-17 in their last 22.

I mean they were for the first half…what do you expect when you’re at such a huge talent disadvantage?

I sort of expect them to look organized and able to execute some plays. I expect come effort on defense. I don't expect 20-point losses every other game.

And that's just it. Guys aren't giving up or tuning out. It's just the talent gap that catches up at some point in the game.

Alot of those names were before my time as a Suns fan, 93. But I put Landry ahead of guys like Bender and Jackson only because he had NBA experience prior to coming here. The Morris twins tenure was partially marred by off court BS but yeah.

The thing is this - Shamet has been almost exctly the same player he was everywhere else that he has since coming here. He's no worse than he was in Philadelphia, Los Angeles or Brooklyn. The Suns just just saw the one thing he could do fairly well (shoot open jumpers) and they figured he's be better because they would get him more of those open looks here. Well, we all see how that woked out for them.

Was always a red flag to me that good playoff teams - Sixers, Clippers, Nets - all had him, played him and then moved him after a season despite being a young player on a rookie deal. I still understand the Suns logic in trading for him but they missed and missed big time.
