Suns/Jazz both expected to offer own RFAs contracts in the next couple of days.

Nothing yet.. Teams seem more enamored with Lowry due to him being an UFA.

And 7-8 mil is probably the going rate for a guy like Ariza. I'd love to get him at 6. And FWIW, I think I'd rather pay Ariza 8 than Hayward 13. I just don't think he's worth that kind of contract and you're locking yourself into that contract which would be tough to move down the road if need be. You're basically paying a max deal to a really really good 3rd option, an average 2nd option or a really bad 1st option. Is Hayward going to be worth 16 mil a few years from now? Come on...
I believe you are right about the going rate for Ariza, and Hayward is a third option, I agree. Nobody will confuse him with a franchise player, which is what you should be getting at the max, at least in theory. But we are still talking about a player who makes that 'optionX tier', whereas Ariza doesn't get out of the role player zone. Four years from now I'd rather pay 15M for a 28 years old Hayward (those 13M+4.5%) than 9.XM for Ariza at 33. This is of course assuming that you need more than just a 3D guy to stack your roster, which is the case of the current Suns.

Aren't both of those numbers technically retired?

True, but I guess they could receive the blessing of Davis and KJ, pretty much like Adams did with Grant Hill.

I don't even want Randle - not the way he'll set off airport metal detectors with all the junk in his foot.
No deals with the Lakers, period - they can take a flying fuck at a rolling donut, but they'd better be facing west in the process.....

Also: No to Deng and HELL NO to Ariza - neither offer an upgrade and both are fragile.
