Can Kevin Durant And Suns Reach Their Ultimate Goal?
Now that the Suns have acquired Kevin Durant, can Phoenix reach the franchise's ultimate goal? It may depend on the health of Chris Paul.

Could KD make All-NBA still with only 49 games played? Looking at the competitors, he’s way better than the other guys fighting for the 3rd team spots(I’d say Giannis, Tatum, Butler, and Lauri get 1st/2nd team).

His competition….Pascal Siakam, Jaylen Brown, Julius Randle, LeBron James.

Even with 24 more games played, Siakam has only won 2 more games. He’s 35-35 when he plays, KD is 33-13(24-2 over his last 26). His stats are just way better than these other guys. I think if he played 12-15 more games with his numbers he’d be a pretty clear 1st Team guy and probably gets mentioned in the mvp race as the 4th guy.

I don’t think he’ll get a lot of votes, but he’d get mine.

I haven’t seen this posted yet. But it gives me hope. There’s not a lot of scouting on the KD Suns it’s going to be a learning lesson on the fly against our opponents. I hope what they say about CP3 is true.

A much smarter fan than me(David nash from Twitter) pointed out the suns are also not running a lot of their normal stuff right now. I’ll look for the thread and post it, but basically we’re focusing on the new stuff to add since we brought in KD. Fitting him into our normal sets will be easy, but learning the new stuff takes more time and that’s what we’re focusing on. It should make us more versatile and less susceptible to what teams like Dallas did to us. The focus was on using DA more in the dunker spot. We almost exclusively used him at the elbows and as a screen and roll guy before KD.

Here’s the thread:

Not to be that guy, and he's our guy, but he's also right even if he's being snarky.

Amazing shooting for 47 out of 80 games.

It seems like you’ve been that guy a lot lately.

No one with a usage over 30 has ever had a TS% as high as KD this year. There are 7 seasons of players with a usage over 30 and a TS% over .650, in order of TS%:

1. 22-23 KD at .677
2. 17-18 Curry at .675
3. 15-16 Curry at .669
4. 21-22 Jokic at .661
5. 22-23 Embiid at .655
6. 20-21 Curry at .655
7. 22-23 Curry at .653

I definitely prefer the Warriors to the Clippers in round one with Biyombo likely to miss a decent stretch of games at best.

It’s almost definitely Clippers or Warriors now. Pels could still get it, but would require the Warriors to lose to the Blazers. All 4 teams can still fall to the play-in, so I think they all definitely keep trying.

Lakers can only be our opponent if Clippers lose out and Warriors lose to Blazers.

A lot will depend on what we do against the Clippers. If we assume the clippers and warriors both beat the blazers, we control who we play depending on what we do against the Clips. Beat them and we get the Warriors…lose and we get them.

Let's hope his recovery timing is as good as his block timing.
