Good win, not great, but good. Book is still in a funk. I have a feeling he's going to have to take a few games off once Beal gets back. Something's not right with him.

Goodwin has been pure ass. I hate stupid players and he’s very stupid.
I hate offensively inept players and most games he’s offensively inept like Okogie. I hope they’re both out of the rotation once Beal and Lee are back.

Goodwin had been the only player to play in every game…now no one has.

At least he’s still been available for every game.

There was a clear game plan to put KD on the ball earlier in the possession and the Rockets really didn't have much of an answer for it. He's had some high turnover games, so I don't know how sustainable it'll be even though I like it more than him being a stationary decoy.
Azubuike impressively put it on Sengun. We might have something with him if he plays that aggressively without fouling every night.

Azubuike was better than watching Drew Kline for sure.Flagrant Fowl wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 3:38 amThere was a clear game plan to put KD on the ball earlier in the possession and the Rockets really didn't have much of an answer for it. Really good win. We looked like an actual NBA team playing NBA basketball. This was the kind of game you expect from this team. Start to finish, everyone contributed and knew what to do and where to be. It was a normal, typical game and we put up 130, won by 20 against a team we're supposed to beat. Not sure if it was our best game but it felt like it. For whatever reason, things clicked on both ends. It's like they re-worked the entire offense and started over fresh. We were actually running plays, guys were in their normal spots and taking shots they were used to, the defense looked simpler but more effective and guys were hustling around. The Rockets aren't very good (better record than us tho) and were missing Brooks but it was still good to see us play competent basketball on both ends of the court.
KD first triple double in over a year. He did everything and looked more comfortable than ever towards the end of the game. EG spoke up a bit to the media and then backed it up. All the kickouts were perfect, he was quick trigger and his 3s helped build the lead. That's the flamethrower we've needed. Grayson played really well too, got hot for a bit and we ran some plays for him exclusively.
I still don't know if Metu and Azibuike are consistent rotation players but they've given us a spark with their size, length and athleticism. I like the PnR look they give us too, which seemed to be missing so far. I also think them being roll/rim threats provides some of the better spacing for Book and KD on the perimeter? Nurk and Eubanks have been working in the high post which could've been crowding things. Vogel stuck with Metu and Azibuike in the 2nd half. Eubanks is out of the rotation at the moment. Interested to see how this plays out in the frontcourt.

This is the first game I skipped this season even though they are almost all really late games for me being in Eastern TZ. I'm glad they won and it sounded like they actually played good but at this point it is going to take more than one or two wins to get me back on board.
