You don't say! Huh. Never would have gotten that from the million other posts where you said Dunn isn't an NBA player.

Yep, WAY too early to make an assessment a la Saucy. He could be right but let's give Dunn some time before writing him off.ShelC wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 2:54 pmI'd definitely put him in the category with guys like Okogie, Roberson and Thybulle. They got rotational minutes early on and were high level defenders before they kind of leveled off and teams/coaches realized it was hard to play them because of the lack of offense. This could definitely be the case with Dunn, tho I think his size and length gives him more of an advantage and a bit more potential to stick.
Thank you for a much more seasoned take. Let's see how he develops with time with real pros and given the right roles.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 3:11 pmAll 3 got significant paydays after their rookie deals. I do think Roberson would have a hard time playing in todays game.. he played a lot early on with OKC(signed a 3/30 contract) but quickly faded away as shooting became more important. Thybulle has proven to be a better shooter than any of the 4 and he’s still playing. I think Okogie is a fringe rotation player, but he’s a clear nba player.
I do agree Dunn will need to be at least competent(32-35%) from 3 eventually to stick as a rotation guy. I can’t see someone with his size and defensive ability being out of the league though. Okogie isn’t competent from 3 and continues to hang around as a smaller and less gifted defender.
Mostly I think it’s very premature to try and make any judgements(good or bad) on summer league play. We’ve got defensive minded role players playing alongside g league level ball handlers…Dunn looks bad when he’s creating on offense, I won’t argue that, but he shouldn’t be asked to create anything on offense. If he plays in the regular season, all we should ask him to do is stand in the corner(or the dunker spot) and take catch and shoot 3s or cut to the rim and finish dunks…no need to dribble or play make at all. Maybe let him set some screens and roll.
Ya I don’t think it’s a surprise…we knew he couldn’t shoot or dribble…if he could he would’ve been a lotto pickspecialsauce wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 4:15 pmOkogie is a bulldozer on offense. He wrecks havoc in transition and gets to the rim well. He just can't shoot.
This kid cant shoot AND has seems to have little dribble drive game.
