Does anyone know if these guys even stretch out before practicing/games?
Actually focus on a Beal drive; he does about a 75° split to get the initial move, then flails upon every layup.
Health is the downside to "athleticism". You don't see Grayson getting hurt on drives.

My personal belief is that its because players specialize in one sport and play it all year round and work out with no breaks to let their bodies recover at a young age. It seems like there are so many more injuries in basketball and baseball than there use to be and by the time they're professionals the players are thinking "I'm not risking my heath by playing with a minor injury and risk my future health" because the money is so good it's not worth the risk to them. That manifests itself in players like Joel Embiid and Kawhi Leonard who miss time for "load management." Embiid has played 60 games in 4 of the nine years since he was drafted, and has never played more than 68. Leonard has managed to play 60 in 7 of his 13 years, but has averaged 43 games a year for the last 7. Paul George has averaged 53 over the last 5 years Undoubtably most of the games were missed because of legitimate injuries, but the reverse is also true - they've all sat out games that they were healthy for because of load management.Bucktastic365 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 10:45 amDoes anyone know if these guys even stretch out before practicing/games?

I hope Beal isn't out for another long stretch because I think he played excellently the past two games. He had a real spring in his step, was dribbling well, weaving through traffic, attacking the basket, making smart passes. I really liked seeing the plays that developed when he initiated the offense. He was shooting pretty well, too. And he even had some standout defensive plays like his amazing block on old man Lebron. I couldn't have asked for more from him in those two games and I think those games gave a good sample of what he can provide for us that is a bit different than what Booker and KD provide. So I hope he is okay and that we can get that version of Beal back soon.

I have to confess that I don't understand this post when I first read it, nor do I understand it now. Are you saying that I didn't read some posts on the site that would have answered the question about whether Beal will be out? It seemed like he was going to play and/or was listed as "questionable" but he is in fact out now. Or did I misunderstand your message? I do read the site several times a day.Superbone wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 3:07 pmKeep reading.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 2:23 pmI hope Beal isn't out for another long stretch because I think he played excellently the past two games. No big deal. In the Suns news thread Shel posted a tweet that said he was probable for the next game but then he didn't play. When I posted that, I had just gotten on .net and I only had two new posts. Yours and Shel's which gave Beal's status.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 8:13 pmI have to confess that I don't understand this post when I first read it, nor do I understand it now.
