Ya I kinda want to keep Cody Martin…not sure the 8 million salary is gonna work though if we want to stay under the 2nd apron.
Maybe you can re-sign for cheaper? 1yr 5mil? Don’t think he’ll get more than that anyways.

For me, I think I prefer to just sell off Royce and Grayson for picks and give Cody Martin one of their minutes. My preference is to trade Grayson for proper starting center or PF but I’d take a late 1st too. Would Orlando trade Tristan Da Silva, Jett Howard and the 24th pick for Grayson and 2nd?

Royce is a solid player, might there be a team that could absorb Royce’s contact and give us a couple 2nds as well.

Just focus on surrounding Book with young, athletic and hungry players.

Oso's stat line doesn't show it, but he was really great last night. Moving, cutting, defense all over the court.... We've needed that more from the center position.

Is it fair to conclude from this recent winning stretch that Devin Booker (not KD) is our best player, and that we will have more success running our team through him than letting KD drive? Early in the season we struggled mightily with KD out and Booker trying to carry us. But I'm not advocating for benching KD or whatever, just having him be the second option and not initiate much of the offense. We seem to do much better that way, no?

(I realize that is not the only reason for our recent mini run of success; playing the young and hungry guys is also a big part, etc.)

Yes, I agree. The ball totally stops when KD runs the offense.

Despite some early season struggles, I think Booker has always been our best player. The problem is, the rest of the team, including Booker, thinks it's KD. And Tyus, Brad, and Book were all on board with that idea, so the play every time down the court was dump it to KD, and let him iso for the rest of the shot clock. It's been such a breath of fresh air to have CG go in there and initiate an offense and just make the right play or find a cutting player. It's made a huge difference.

Yeah, good point. Everybody has been deferring to the first ballot hall of famer at the detriment of the team.

I don’t think best player and primary offensive engine are the same thing…yes Booker is better as the engine of the offense than KD, but KD has had a better year.

KD is still the best player on the team because of his defensive help as well.

Booker is and has always been at his best when he's the main hub, deferring to KD has been detrimental to him and this team. Its not a good combo, if KD were someone else like Giannis I think it would be a much better pairing. Ho hum.

That's all it was was the phrasing. If you had left out easy/ and just said winnable, I couldn't argue. "Easier" also acceptable. :P I had zero intention of accusing you of not watching games. I said "you act like". Meaning I knew you DID watch most/all games and thus we should all know by now that we have no easy games.

Having said all that, if we DON'T win tonight, we have no business even being in the play-in tournament.
Cool, understood, no worries at all. Also, hey, we DID win last night; maybe it was an easy game after all. ;-)
