Even here in the closing garbage minutes, our team plays no defense and Houston's D-squad is able to just drive to the basket uncontested and get layups and dunks and alley-oops. Pathetic.

I didn't like to wish for people to lose their jobs, but the entire coaching staff really has to go. For the players to check out like this is really inexcusable.
Agreed, but all the players have to be held accountable too.

Can we pull a Grizzlies here and fire Bud now?

He might be half the problem, but, he's not the whole problem. This will be the second coaching change with the same results. I hate this roster.

KD's injury is a blessing honestly. Nothing career threatening, but ends his season before we actually lead him to a serious injury that would threaten his career and make zero difference in our season outlook.

Absolutely. Assuming it's a 1-2 week type of sprain, I completely agree. I'll take it. Now get on the damn phones and ship his ass out.

Looking at the box score, are there any positives there at all? I guess Book had 28 points, which is ... fine? Next highest scorer was KD with 11, oof. I guess Monte Morris had a decent garbage time run with 10 points? KD is sidelined for the season in a good way? That's about it. This game was a dumpster fire.

Game Score Predictions Results:
Split T - Suns by 7, Booker with a 30 point triple double
SunsRIt - Suns by 6
Superbone - Suns by 2, he foolishly predicts.
——————
Kryptonic - wernher von Brauns invention by an Apollo 13.
TOO - rickets by 16
JeremyG - Rockets by 27
HOU 148 - PHX 109; Rockets by 39; JeremyG wins easily with his conservative prediction.

Down 29 at the half. Hey folks who said this team might be okay and we can keep Book/KD together for next season: Where you at??
Just to be fair, I said IF the team continues to play well with the young energy players, they should CONSIDER keeping KD. I don't think anyone said after the 4-game win streak that everything was ok. It's clear now after getting blown out in 3 straight embarrassing games that the youthful energy cannot be sustained, and the superstars can't carry the load.
I don't think he's the problem per se, but trading KD probably is the right move at this point.

I had concerns about the assistants heading into the season. Not to denigrate a person or their title but it felt like Bud had trouble filling his staff and elevated former player development guys from his time in Milwaukee.

It's the same issue as last year, it's not all the coaching staff, we have a roster full of lazy babies. The C rotation is full of backups, the PF position doesn't exist, the PG position has no starters, and the rest of the roster not named Dunn or Durant can't defend a wet sock. This roster sucks, the leadership sucks, Bud looks defeated, the players look defeated, it's a complete disaster.

Sure, there are those things but other than that...

Can we label it now? Most disappointing season in Phoenix Suns history? What do you think, @Bobster? (knowing the @ thing doesn't work.)

A somewhat interesting thing to watch after this game is how many games KD plays to finish out the season. Hes played 62, so would need 3 more to be eligible for All-NBA.

Actually he needs to play in 4 more. Only games where he played 20 minutes counts and he played 16 in a game back in december(think when he got hurt and missed 3-4 games).
