Laz, I can't think of a single team that had a worse offseason than them. And Mitch Kupchack has assembled an army of power forwards that would make Ryan and his legion of point guards blush.

Kobe, Lin, Nash, Xavier Henry. That is not the Lakers guard rotation, it is ALL the guards on their roster. Not only is the number thin, the actual players are on NBA life support. I doubt Kobe will have another full healthy season again. Nash is nearly retired. Yikes.

You left out Nick Young.

Understand your point of view. Don't entirely agree, but I get where you are coming from ... not just in this thread, but with your recent unhappiness.

I really like the Bledsoe/Dragic pairing, but I voted Curry/Thompson. Curry is just insane. Being in the Bay Area now, I get to see him play more. He just wins games and finds ways to get open for shots and can kill you with a dagger 3 at any moment. There's nobody in the league like him. And Thompson, while I would have traded him for Love and don't think he's a max player, is a great shooting guard at both ends of the floor in a league that is dry at that position. They complement each other pretty well, though Thompson rarely sets up Curry or others.

I clicked the wrong one by accident. Sorry. I was going to choose "Other" if you consider KD a two, but I really think of him as a three although he plays like a 2 alot.

Kevin Durant is -not- a shooting guard.

Good poll to have. Traditionally speaking, Curry/Thompson may be it. I'm not a huge fan of Thompson, but as others have said, Curry is a beast and Thompson is no slouch. He's a bit one dimensional and the lack of true SGs in the game today allow him to stand out that much more.

Wall and Beal are right there. Wall's shooting has gotten better but he still needs to improve a lot. But he and Beal are a great duo and should be for some time. Lawson/Afflalo, Paul/Redick, DWill and JJ shouldn't be in the conversation.

If OKC starts Reggie Jackson and Westbrook, you might have to consider them. Also don't discount what Kemba and Lance could potentially do.

Ours is right up there.

I'd say Curry/Klay are 1A, while the Slash Bros are 1B. Our bench backcourt is unquestionably the best, however. GG and IT could be a starting unit for a respectable lottery team.

Ah, makes sense... thanks for the explanation! i am with mori on the durant position though, wouldn't consider him a 2 even if he shoots better than most 2s in the game today.

Deron Williams and Joe Johnson once (as in used to be) formidable players. Joe now is more a 3 trying to masquerade as an off guard. Williams never really fulfilled his potential, either because of injury or attitude...

Neither can I, though I remember that clearly. Very early in his Utah days he was being touted as the best young PG in the game and maybe the best pick and roll PG outside of Nash. Do you know that Deron makes $19.8Mil this season? I'd rather have Dragic every day of the week.

It was a valid debate at one time. Looks foolish now, but also very interesting how their career paths have gone. I'm no fan of Paul and he just as easily could have become DWill. His rep took a big hit in NOLA when they were losing. But winning cures all ills. If DWill gets it going or gets traded somewhere like Orlando or Milwaukee and makes them a playoff team, it'll all be forgotten.

I feel like, if things keep going the way they go for both guys, we'll see a 30 for 30 about them in like 10 years.

Paul was the very definition of a prima donna when he was here in NOLA. It's sad that it is so commonplace in the NBA that throwing tantrums and being a giant asshole in order to force your way to another team is so commonplace that no one even bats an eye at it anymore though. People here still call him CPMe.

interesting... i had never read about that bit of paul's reputation. i was somewhat forgiving of him for anecdotal reasons, and felt that he was the prototypical point guard, able to really improve players around him, and for that i always had a lot of respect for him. always thought that he was more than his nola days could offer and felt that he was a player i could root for.

as i recall deron vs. paul was valid because paul had a serious injury concern early on in his career while deron was seen as a bull that could crash through anything...
