Decent movie, horrible Superman movie.INFORMER wrote:Ugh, really?!carey wrote:I love the opening of Man of Steel.
Bricklaying is dangerous business...Sunsfan4life wrote:Brandon Knight out with a hip injury...
I really liked Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. How they handled Jonathan Kent was atrocious. Their presentation/interpretation of Krypton was ridiculous. Really every decision they made regarding Superman's Kryptonian heritage was awful. The Bobster wrote:Decent movie, horrible Superman movie.INFORMER wrote:Ugh, really?!carey wrote:I love the opening of Man of Steel.
Don't even get me started on that. We haven't even established Clark Kent as a character and we're already using the movie to introduce the whole freaking DC Comics lineup? DC needs to get over their Marvel-envy and just concentrate on making a good movie.Wally_West wrote:Say what you want about Snyder but his visuals are probably the best in the business. That Batman and Superman fight is going to be insane.carey wrote:I love the opening of Man of Steel. Snyder really went for it. Watching it on HBO instead. Suns aren't playing anyway.
I enjoyed it on both ends. I'm also not one of those people that over critique everything comic book related so...The Bobster wrote:Decent movie, horrible Superman movie.INFORMER wrote:Ugh, really?!carey wrote:I love the opening of Man of Steel.
And they wrote themselves into a corner where Superman has to kill in the end - which makes me think they really don't have a good grasp of what makes Superman popular.INFORMER wrote:I really liked Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. I didn't think the movie was bad - I just didn't think it worked as a Superman movie.INFORMER wrote:Funny thing is, I didn't have a problem with it. Most of the negativity that I heard stemmed from that and from all the destruction his fight with Zod caused. And none of that really bothered me.
Well, I grew up reading Avengers, Iron Man and Captain America comics so I'm pleaded. Now if Sony could just get Spider-Man right.....INFORMER wrote:I skipped Superman Returns. It looked really bad. I've caught a view moments here and there as it has come on TV, but I haven't seen anything that's made me regret my original decision. Brandon Routh has been really good on Arrow though.
Sony released control of Spidey back to Marvel for a profit share. He will probably show up as soon as Civil War (Cap 3.)The Bobster wrote:Well, I grew up reading Avengers, Iron Man and Captain America comics so I'm pleaded. Agreed.Charlie Smithy! wrote:Spiderman 2 wasn't half bad, imo.
Yes, let's hope Sony has the good sense to take Marvel's advice.carey wrote:Sony released control of Spidey back to Marvel for a profit share. Eh. Spider-Man 2 was basically Superman 2.The Bobster wrote:Agreed.Charlie Smithy! wrote:Spiderman 2 wasn't half bad, imo.
Do you mean Amazing Spider-Man 2? Wait... you guys liked that one but hated Man of Steel? Weird. TAS2 was pretty terrible. It was like 2 totally different movies in one. Itsy bitsy spider? Bleh. I did like Garfield though. And of course Emma Stone is amazing in all things.Charlie Smithy! wrote:Spiderman 2 wasn't half bad, imo.
