I always think it's interesting to see what web sites people link to. As in, wow, this is where these people get their news.
I don't think of breitbart.com as a reliable news source. In fact, any news source with a stated political agenda is out for me. I just won't click 'em. I know for one example that breitbart.com repeatedly writes anti-black articles about race and crime. Search for "black thug site:breitbart.com" for a sampling.

How do you know what I watch? I rarely watch FOX News on TV anymore because I just can't take it for more than five minutes at a time before being disgusted. I do read FOX News web site pretty much every day along with CNN, BBC, Politico, The Hill, Al Jazeera and even the Drudge Report for laughs. I read others too but, not as often.
You want me to prove FOX News intentionally spreads hate towards the other half of the country? What would you consider proof? I see it with my own eyes ever day. Prove my eyes work?

I blocked him on my first day back after my first post. I was like "Who is this guy I don't know who is already insulting me after one post". Luckily I was enlightened by others with experience with him that that that is his MO. I occasionally check out his post if he responds to something I posted but, I usually regret it.
On August 18, 2000, journalist Jane Akre won $425,000 in a court ruling where she charged she was pressured by Fox News management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information.
The real information: she found out cows in Florida were being injected with RBGH, a drug designed to make cows produce milk – and, according to FDA-redacted studies, unintentionally designed to make human beings produce cancer.
Fox lawyers, under pressure by the Monsanto Corporation (who produced RBGH), rewrote her report over 80 times to make it compatible with the company’s requests. She and her husband, journalist Steve Wilson, refused to air the edited segment.
In February 2003, Fox appealed the decision and an appellate court and had it overturned. Fox lawyers argued it was their first amendment right to report false information. In a six-page written decision, the Court of Appeals decided the FCC’s position against news distortion is only a “policy,” not a “law, rule, or regulation.”
So, Fox and the other gladiatorical cable news channels were given the okay to legally lie right around the time of the Iraq War’s birth – when media lies coincidentally hit a peak in both frequency and severity.

It’s easy to turn off Fox News in our own homes — but when TVs in public places are tuned to Fox, that also spreads fear, division, and misinformation. Turn Off Fox is about ordinary people and small businesses working together to reduce Fox’s influence in their own communities and across the country.
I find it very uncomfortable to watch Fox News. Around the holidays I end up having to watch it some in the background when I'm hanging out with my wife's very conservative family. The content is almost 100% propaganda.
They'll do an extended segment on the "War on Christmas" and how it's silly to say "Happy Holidays." They'll do an interview with some military service members (which is fine) and use it as a launching pad to talk about how great guns are and how Obama sure better not take them away. They'll do a bunch of question mark stories, like, "Is Obama administration in league with ISIS?" where the takeaway is, "Hmm, not sure, could be or not," which is basically FUD reporting.
And of course there was a bunch of coverage about things like Benghazi and the failings of Obamacare.
The channel and its content have a very creepy feel to me. I don't think any effort is made to report actual news. It really just felt like a motivational presentation to reinforce pre-existing conservative opinions.
(Standard disclaimer, yes, I do think MSNBC and others are just about as bad, etc. - but I don't think two wrongs make a right)

Creepy is a great way to put it. I really feel it is driving us towards civil war. Which won't be based on geography, which will be even crazier to fight. It's scary.

I only see the civil war thing talked about by those on the right. I haven't seen any left leaning anything that talks about that in any way. Those that talk about it seem to think it would be an easy war since they have all the guns and think the military is automatically going to side with them because the military is pro Republican according to them.
It would just be horrific and nothing else.
Want to be horrified? Go to FOX and read the comment sections on any current story. You can see the first hand effects Faux News has on people and tell me they aren't inspiring hate.
The president of the Liberty University is urging students to carry concealed weapons on campus in order to “end those Muslims” who would attack the campus.

I look forward to the day 10-20 years from now when we can look back on the current anti-Islam crowd the way we now look back on people who were anti-black during the 60s. I think to a large degree we already do look at them that way, but it isn't universal the way it now is to look down on anti-black racists.

I really don't understand what goes through cops' minds in that situation. I'm the first one to defend cops and their use of force because of the job they have, but it's disturbing how they're consistently shown in groups, guns drawn on 1 suspect who doesn't seem to be an immediate threat and firing multiple shots. At the very least, with such attention on police and their tactics, you'd think one officer there would've taken charge, told the others to holster their weapons and step away from the situation.
It's always easy in hindsight to say "shoot him in the leg and arrest him" but i think that could've been a possibility there. And in the UK yesterday, a suspected terrorist slashed 3 people in a train station and was eventually subdued via taser/stun gun. I'm sure that will be in the headlines and bring about questions as to why our police officers aren't using that method as a first option rather than firing away and killing people at point blank range.
